  1. Reason why it flopped on End Of Fox Animation · · Score: 2

IMHO the reason Titan didn't do so well is because they couldn't decide on their target audience. Was it designed for the young child/Disney group, a more intellectual teen group, or the scifi/animation/cgi fan? Some things were definately geared toward a more sophisticated set, and yet many elements remained for the kiddies. "It is a cartoon after all," I can hear Don Bluth saying. I personaly found it fun. I say bonus points to Fox for taking a step like that. I loved being able to see something a little edgier from a US animated movie. Titan and Anastatia were some of the best looking films I've seen. It would have been much better if they would cut the talking animal convention. I can't wait until the industry will stop thinking of animation as a lower art form and approach it the same way as a live action feature.

Although the cheesiest acting of all the movies, Voyage Home is still great, IMHO. I know that movie inside and out. The scene goes as follows:

Scott: Computer? (Bones hands him the mouse and Scott speaks into it) Computer? Hello, computer.
Dr. Nichols: (annoyed) Just use the keyboard.
Scott: (looks at it in mild disgust) A keyboard. How quaint. (cracks knuckles)

Does anyone know if Madeline ("Not now, Madeline!") was just thrown in because she was related to one of the producers?

But imperfect means it is something that continued for a period in the past. That wouldn't be very accurate then, would it? Maybe debiendo...?

  6. Re:When you beg for handouts, you get what they gi on Debian Chooses Logo · · Score: 1

I would have to disagree there. I've designed a number of logos and rejuvenated old ones and I'm by no means a profesional artist. It doesn't take any specific training, just a good eye. Grafix is my thing, and I'm certainly not a Mac user. Yes, they're good for multimedia, but the interface is so lame. I liked the DG entry, much more profesional looking at least. But then again, it would be harder to convert to ascii art.

"To get better, less ugly entries..." Some could say the same about better, non-crashing OS's, but it seems to me like the best thing out there is free. Any true geek would gladly work on a project with only the pride of knowing his efforts were used and benefit others.
