I have a home based computer business, a few servers, A/C and a pool, and 3 kids that keep the washing machine running... But a digital and comfortable lifestyle with electricity shouldn't be something only the wealthy can afford. Which is why solar makes sense.. and is out of reach for many.
Its VERY easy to get a real, positive return on a solar investment within a few years. That's because electricity rates are high, and solar panels are now cheap. Only government organizations can manage to screw up such an easy return on investment... (For instance, schools, government buildings such as the White House, etc. where the only concern is appearing green.) For dollars spent vs. dollars saved, solar is a fantastic investment, even without government subsidies.
Meanwhile, people without the ability to harvest energy from the sun and reap the tax benefits are getting socked with energy bills doubling every 5-7 years. (My average $500+/mo energy bills are why I'm getting solar installed this month!)
Dianne Feinstein should be charged with criminal negligence for writing the law that has been encouraging unaccompanied minors to travel to the US to cut in front of people who are in line for H1B's.
Lack of head cover can cause skin cancer. Knitting wool hats can increase demand for sheep. Sheep farts are also bad for the environment. I'm not sure if the impact on carbon for premature mortality is offset by the sheep farts.
What price is it listed as? Doesn't it make sense that Amazon US and Warner Brothers would have to come to a legal agreement with price and markup before they can accept pre-orders?
I'd love to hear some stories of coding triumphs... Stories where a bug fix, patch, or hack saves the day or gets it done right.. Does anyone have any fond memories they'd like to share?
Or the devs were encouraged to take a paid vacation from coding... Courtesy of the NSA or Microsoft.
My guess the link to www.truecrypt.org/donations/ was not often visited.
The raid came after repeated attempts to have the owners shut down the site on their own accord. By ignoring and mocking the multiple attempts at warning their behavior may be in violation of laws, they chose to fight the battle in a court of law. Courts of law have police to enforce their decisions. Their mocking of take-down notices and repeated claims that they are only facilitating pirating (not actual pirating) can and should be interpreted by courts and juries.
Spending a little more money up front often pays off with a better product, bigger user community, more sample code, more documentation... and no breadboarding!
Wow. As a software/hardware product.. that is freaking cool.... No, I wouldn't want to wear one.. But the analytic side of it is fascinating. You could also tie it in with facial recognition, so that if the employee removes the badge, that would be known and reported too. Your slacking off days are numbered!!
Emailing a URL and clicking it to add it to a calendar is kind of silly. If team has practices and games, that info should automatically be sync'd into a player's calendar.. and updated automatically as schedules are updated.
I use multiple google calendars-- one for each kid, my spouse, and for some clubs I'm in. I use Calenmob on my iphone to see them all... but I would love it if there was more software that let you have a club (or class or whatever) add events to your calendar... Seems like a great idea that should have been solved.. but hoping someone here can recommend something.
Prohibition works well when there is a reasonable and legal alternative. I think it will be difficult to get this current iteration of BitCoin out of the black market and into the mainstream.
With BitCoin, the wealth of the entire system has already been largely distributed to a handful of early adopters. For a global currency, BitCoin is hoarded by a large, mostly geek community. The government doesn't have any, which is why the government will do its best to take it down.. and its easy to "take it down" by auditing any company that advertises on the web that they accept bitcoin. (Accepting BitCoin for merchandise has pretty much meant that the transaction(s) will go unreported, including taxes.)
Timbuktu is a good choice if you need something that works only on Windows NT, XP and Mac OS 6 and 7. Just kidding. I I use Team Viewer and I'm happy. Agree the pricing model makes me unlikely to confess to using it for any commercial purpose.
DIFI had a $40 remote control helicopter fly by her house during a CODE PINK protest against her use of drones and her support of the endless wars she supports.
In other words, about half as long as the HA-420 Honda personal jet.

Take the 5th and say your computer crashed. That works for the IRS.
What, was that posted on FauxNews or the Sludge Report? /sarcasm

If it is a pile, then rest assured it will be reinstated by the ninth circuit court.

Avoid terms with negative connotations, such as "GPL" and use the more acceptable term, BSD. As a hiring software developer, I know of what I speak.

Exactly: The OS releases the memory after the application sigfaults.

Pink Barbie helicopter scares Senator in her $16.5M mansion. The gals at Code Pink needed a man to fly a slightly larger top copter, but it wasn't successful either. http://www.thewire.com/politics/2014/01/was-drone-feinstein-encountered-her-house-tiny-pink-helicopter/357061/
The ability to make a last minute edit after submitting would be a good feature here!
