In addition it appears that these galaxies are strung on a cord of high dimensional energy with each end looping back to or near what may be the Universe's center.
Um, what? The universe has no center. The universe needs no center.
What occurs where the two black holes meet is not understood.
They merge into a bigger black hole.
what is not understood is how the engine works and how it apparently takes little or no space in the galaxy itself... as if it resides in a much higher dimension that needs virtually no space.
Have you ever thought about galaxy engines... ON WEED?
Maybe for you. I find Vista significantly less irritating than XP for what I use my computer for, plus I think it looks nicer. Your mileage, of course, may vary.
I don't know if the FA says what it is (restrictive webfilter here) but can we speculate? Russian flag? Area 51? His giant pet wooly mammoths?
He's sitting in front of flag, but the incompetent idiot who did the Photoshopping made him look like woman. I guess they didn't think anyone would notice.
As opposed to desert storm, when Hussein could well have taken over 1/2 of the entire middle east without our intervention.
The difference is that in Desert Storm, it was Iraq who invaded a sovereign nation they had no business invading. We went in to push them back. Note that we stopped and didn't rumble on into Baghdad. By your logic it would be perfectly fine if the rest of the world launched a counter attack to drive us out of Iraq. Jackass.
Besides which, what exactly has good will in the world ever gotten us?
Turning off Aero will probably make it slower. If you leave Aero on, it offloads a lot of the graphical work onto the video card.
Vista basically sucks, and the only people who don't see that are M$ fan boys.
Look at how wrong you are. I dislike Microsoft as much as the next guy. I held onto Windows 98SE for years after XP came out because I fear MS operating system changes. A few months ago I bought a new Core 2 duo system and took the plunge with Vista Ultimate SP1, and I think it's fine. The machine I'm using to post this is an XP machine and using it is like going back to the bronze age compared to Vista at home.
I don't really care if I get 83 vs 87 fps in Fallout or whatever. It works great, and it looks nice. Sorry.
News flash. Politics is boring, period. I don't give a shit who's standing up there.
But it wasn't -- not this time. If you didn't find it interesting, that's your problem. Millions of other people thought it was great.
Watching Obama piss away the GDP of a small country on advertising to prove he's the better man for saving this economy is unfuckingbelieveable.
Except that money was freely donated by the people for the specific purpose of having him spend it trying to win the election. If someone hands you a million dollars and orders you to go buy a Ferrari, are you going to argue?
what was the worst thing we did? Take out a sociopathic dictator who murdered thousands of his own people and who allowed his sons to operate rape rooms for years? Yea.
No, the worst thing we did was invade a sovereign nation that we had no business invading, destroying infrastructure that still hasn't been rebuilt, and completely ruined all the international good will that we had garnered after 9/11.
Exit polls: You go around asking people how they voted. Your margin of error is related to your sample size. If you ask enough people, and the spread between the candidates is large enough, you can be pretty sure of who will win.
But being banned from online play because I let out a "fuck" on their forums?
You know, I've never been on EA's forums, but I'm willing to bet there's a "Submit post" button or similar, so please explain how you can accidentally "let out a 'fuck'".
You can get 1 GB of DDR2 800 memory for all other things being equal, people like the faster app.
The problem is that, by and large, people also like more features, and one person's bloat is another person's feature. I personally have never cared if Excel can do 3D pie charts, but I'm sure there are plenty of people out that that find it invaluable. A lot of people think Aero is crap, but I think it looks a helluva lot nicer than anything XP had.
If you're selling software, there's probably nothing you can do that will generate you more revenue than releasing a new version with more features. Try spending a lot of man-years and development dollars into making your app small and tight and see how that goes over with Marketing. "Buy new WonderApp 2.0! Now uses less memory and disk space! Only $199!" The response will be, yes, but what new features does it have?
So, let me get this straight: You think that that phrase means that it is the Federal government's responsibility to provide health insurance?
It's not their responsibility, but I don't think it's a stretch to say it's an option. What do you think it means? The text says, "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States."
One can easily argue that keeping your citizens as a whole healthy provides for the general welfare of the US.
The Schwarzchild radius is about 2.95 km/solar mass, so 4000000 * 2.95 = 11,800,000 km

No doubt with free spyware and internet filtering. You know... for the kids.
Slashdot: News For Nerds (That Can Never Be Happy About Anything)
In my experience, Linux users who have Linux work stations at work have Linux machines at home and for family members, either Linux or Mac.
Counter example: me. We're strictly a Linux shop at work, but I run Vista at home.
Vista just slows everything down and is irrating.
Maybe for you. I find Vista significantly less irritating than XP for what I use my computer for, plus I think it looks nicer. Your mileage, of course, may vary.

Yeah, fuck everyone, right?
After all, the big bang theory requires FTL travel
No it doesn't?
There is a lot that goes on in those 3 days, and if the movies are going ot be any good, they need to cover all of the details.
No. I mean, 90% of one of the books was just about people noticing what happened in the previous book.
I turn off Aero, and it's still slow.

Sorry, buddy, but Vista still sucks, despite your claims otherwise.
Yeah, and I demand to know why XP doesn't run as well as Windows 3.1 on my Pentium-66.
If you're tired of being broke figure out how to better yourself.
Yeah, why can't you just be born rich like everyone else?

Seriously folks, is the moderating system this biased?
No, it's completely unfair that you were moderated "Flamebait". It should have been "damn fool" but there isn't an option for that.
I really don't give two shits about how some snoppy European views our country.
That is why you fail.
It isn't like we really care who you elect in your country.*

when did efficiency become outdated?
When the cost for a programmer to make something really efficient was exceeded by the cost of just buying a faster computer.
WTF, Slashdot ate my first paragraph.
Should read:
You can get 1 GB of DD2 800 for $20 these days. How much was 64MB in 2000? What's the $/MB cost for Vista vs. 2000?
And there is incentive for writing good code, since _all other things being equal_ people like the faster app.

In Linux, running the appropriate "control panel" tools requires no special privileges until you change something, at which point it prompts you once.
Is that so? Then why do a bunch of the control panels on my CentOS workstation at the office require the root password when I try to start them?
So, let me get this straight: You think that that phrase means that it is the Federal government's responsibility to provide health insurance?

I read this list, and most of them sounded like good things.
