Well the same kind of law has been on the books in Missouri has had a similiar law for probably at least 11 years, and it hasn't been thrown out yet. The interstate commerce clause does not apply as the Constitution say that states cannot treat interstate commerce differently from intrastate commerce. The internet sales taxes propose to treat internet sales exactly the same as mail order sales, and bricks and mortar sales. Folks here in Missouri have had to pay Missouri sales taxes on out-of-state purchases for, well at least 11 years when I bought a car in Kansas, and had to pay sales tax in Missouri to title/tag it.

This very same issue came up here when mail order catalog sales took off.

I think the real problem with the S-1 filing lies in the places where it is different. I.e. not only are they not making a profit, they don't have any revenue, or any expenses, or any debt. RH had plenty of those last three things which indicated to me that they were doing something.

There should be some protection for employees. I'm not saying that they should rebuild the house. But they should maybe send out someone to check the ergonomics (maybe the same person who checks it in the office?).

The day my employer says "Ok, we need to come out and check your home-office.", is the day I find a new employer. Not that this would actually have happened, what they would have really said would be "Ok, all telecommuting privileges are hereby revoked, and all employees are required to be onsite."

To a certain degree I agree with you, probably we could get away with only re-testing the subsystem that was changed. I like P. J. Plauger's comments about testing in Chapter 0 of The Standard C Library. He basically says that the test code and the code being tested end up testing each other, and frequently need to be changed in unison. The testing code is closely tied to the tested code, and usually as complex. Each piece debugs the other. He is talking about the C library, which is rather modular in places and rather interdependent in others, so I guess that same applies to the kernel.
