I believe this is nothing but a gesture of goodwill from the chinese government towards Bush and his administration. Not just to boost the trading between the two countries, but also with respect to the current disputes going on in the UN council about what to do with that Saddam dude. Besides what do they have to lose besides some $ - While not knowing anything about current affairs - I don't think it's likely that they are going to throw away their own Linux distro. I bet they have invested at the VERY least the same amount of money in the development of that. Obviously there's the possibility that they after years of use have found that Linux is utter crap. Which it should be if MS Windows were to be preferred over Linux.
I've had one of these babies for 4 years now - and it has been taking alot of beating. Still going on it's first battery. Actually I thought it went on me just before christmas, but after a few days of behaving it came to life again (?). And is once again "Old Trusty".
