Probably from the same place as an idea of Mighty Gorgonas in Heroes of Might & Magic being some funny bulls. Come on, designers, if you decide to put into a game something from our history, try to stick to facts.
Come on... of course Warcraft was inspired by WFB, but Starcraft? Well, maybe the way Marines behave, but races seem to me inspired rather by Alien vs. Predator comic series.
Just look at Your Preferences Page. Topics: Star Wars Prequels, Music, Toys, Christmas Cheer, and, last but not least, It's funny. Laugh.
No one complains about these topics, even though Christmas Cheers have usually even less to do with technology than Penguins.
OK, someone could say: it should be in "It's funny..." topic, not Linux topic, but, hell, The Penguin _is_ the logo of Linux - I think the connection between the two is obvious. And dying penguins are not so funny anyway.
Penguins are on every Linux web page, every distribution box. Why shouldn't Linux community treat penguins in a different way than whales, seals, sharks and whatever else lives in the sea?
