  1. Yep, Other ISP are the same way. on The "Glory" Of Tech Support · · Score: 1

My boss at Winstar had been in the same position for over 2 years... They got people to work there by promising them that after time they would be hired on a full employees and would have a chance to expand their horizons by working in NOC instead of phone support... When I talked to my ex-boss and told him how I felt, he said that he didnt care and that he was happy with his $0.50 raise every 6 months and that he didnt want to do anything else except sit at his desk and play Quake 2 and Diablo all freaking day... He didn't know anything, he was useless... If there was anything wrong, he would just answer "Use the Internet Connection Wizard" (AND WE ALL KNOW THAT FIXES ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS!!! YEAH RIGHT!!!) It was always the lame stupid guys that didnt know anything that were moved up in the ranks... First and foremost, other supervisors won't feel as threatened of losing their jobs and second those lame stupid guys would do anything to kiss ass because they didn't know any better... Anyway, my rant is complete, and I feel your guy's pain...

Heh :) They should port Linux to my toaster, or maybe my washing machine... Maytag Linux OS (TM)... Hell, if all my appliances ran Linux, i could cluster them together and maybe make a kick ass seti@home machine or something... That will be the day... Yes sir, I would like the 10 processor Washer/Dryer set... I just outlived my quad processor set...

Is there a name for what is wrong with you? I am so proud of the fact that in this free country, one man can't express his opinion without having to be corrected all the time by punks like you. You are right, I did use incorrect punctuation, and I did forget capitalization. This is not a term paper; you are not my teacher, nor my professor. I don't pay you to correct me. Do me a favor, keep your comments and your opinions to yourself. If I am not allowed to express mine, then I will be *damned* if I have to put up with yours.

  6. Re:Good for web servers, bad for web users. on Sun's UltraSPARC III Processor Shipping · · Score: 1

Actually if anything, the reason that Sun gots its ". in .com" saying was because Network Solutions were running off of E10K's. Which as we know now, they switched from E10K's to RS6000 by IBM. IBM is technically the ". in .com" now...

  7. exodus features quite a package on Slashdot Prepares for a Server Move · · Score: 1

Where is this moving to? The one in Sana Clara (sp?) California or Oakbrook, IL??? Tips to remember... You cant rip cardboard inside your cage... Those smoke alarms are so sensitive. They also have raised flooring... The water sensors are sensitive enough to see a small cup of water UNDERNEATH the floor... That and the bullet proof glass, bomb safe building (all but the ceiling), and soon they are switching from 1024 bit encryped key access cards to scanning in your hand for authentication... Exodus is making waves... /. I think you will be quite pleased...
