Is it really infringement if you're republishing an article about yourself? Are the laws clear on this issue? I only ask because I find that to be very odd.
I will only give my child a choice when i am trying to teach them a lesson about responsible choices. For the most part, children are fucking stupid. Give them a choice of ice cream and vegetables every night, and they will never choose vegetables. You have to give them an easier choice to begin. From that first one I will begin dealing out more responsible choices, advising and guiding them through wrong decisions and right ones. Giving them 100% freedom from the get go is a retarded notion of patriotism. It's my job to make sure my child is healthy. They have no say in the matter. If you're not going to take the reigns on your child's development, then the 1000 voices that they hear from TV and their peers will do the job for you.
I love when Family Guy sums up the Abraham story in one single moment. The walk down the mountain with his son. "You want to tell me what the hell that was all about?"
This whole War wouldn't happen if we didn't have religion thing is stupid.
The wars and the greed and all the conquering done were dreamed up by a real person first. Religion was the tool they used to get people to do their bidding. This is a huge mistake made by many anti religious people. It wasn't the religion that caused all these evils. Evil just is. Religion was just the tool used to perpetrate said evil. Ironic isn't it?
The iphone has no buttons. Not a true gaming console. Gaming is secondary. Are you going to count how many TI-86+ are in the wild as a gaming base as well?
This data just convinces me that the industry manufactured console hardcore gaming market is about to pop. Kinect will sell them another 10mil if they're lucky.
Name the last PSP game that broke top 10 weekly game sales across all systems. I haven't seen one in the charts for months. I didn't think PSP games were still getting made to be honest.
I'm not doubting you could find some in the charts if you went archiving, but I guarantee you won't find a week there wasn't at least 3 DS titles in the top spots.
Luckily for us the winds of change seem to be blowing. There's the new DKC remake and MK remake coming which are 2 1/2d. I like 2D gameplay better in alot of situations and I'm glad things are turning that way
I'll agree the PSP was an amazing system for it's time. It failed in many ways though and there have been many "wrongs" done during the life of the PSP. UMD was a bust for movies though they were neat. Not trailblazing. Also the games they released were very rarely well received. Especially during launch period. Not exactly taking the market lead there either. As for trying to create a home console experience in a handheld, well.. I would say the Sega Nomad was a greater success. Not exactly breaking new ground again. They could've blazed trails if they embraced the jail break community. They didn't want to though. I guess if you consider bricking units, legitimate or otherwise, through firmware updates something that they did first; Then certainly they can be pioneers in that aspect of consoles.
Kurzweil is a futurist with just enough knowledge to sell people.
He's one of the great inventors of our time actually. Considering how many foundational technologies he has been involved in developing; He doesn't have to sell anybody on anything. He's done that already with his real world inventions. This isn't his job anymore. This is his life.
Myer's probably understands that having a computer simulation complex enough of the brain means his federal grants go to the CS department instead and he will be replaced by a machine. Who has more motive to shutup the other?
Cat's, Dog's and many other animal's brains perform complex calculus at a rudimentary level. Cat's will catch a bird by predicting it's trajectory and leaping at that spot. Dog's will watch a ball thrown and run exactly to the spot where it will land.
They may not be able to do written math but that's because they're too busy being furry and also have no thumbs. Make no mistake though, Mother Nature understands math better than you do
I think it does. Myers whole argument is based upon Kurzweil's explanation of how we will reverse engineer the brain. The problem is he only talks about the genome part of the idea.
AFAIK the only place Kurzweil mentions the genome in his lectures is when he's presenting an example of a situation we thought would take decades, and ended up being relatively quick due to the logarithmic increase in computing power. No where have I heard him speak about the genome being the key to reverse engineering the brain.
Being that Myer denounces all of Kurzweil's ideas based on the notion that reverse engineering of the brain has been stated by Ray to be accomplished through a better understanding of the genome {gasp}; Then yes, Myer is a liar.
What if your favorite OSS project stagnated and no one forked it? Would it die? Alas no the source exists ! It's resurrected and alive again.
Same situation. Opera development dwindles. Company shuts doors. Would it die? Hell no. The source code still exists. It would be sold, retooled and alive again!!
Close source doesn't mean it's doomed to die. Quite the contrary actually. If it's enough of a commercial success, the crappiest software can stick around for decades.
False. I did a full factory restore of my phone to IOS4. The restore from backup failed but I use Google Sync, so I only lost my text messages. Nothing important was there, this time. I feel sorry for the people who experience my circumstances and needed that data. Moving past my contact sync, the phone was without any of my apps and unresponsive in the most obnoxious situations. Hanging up a phonecall would take over a minute for it to decide to go back to the springboard. Typing would take seconds to catch up with me. It was unbearable. Before I could finish installing my essential apps from the iTunes store, I pulled a copy of 3.1 down and installed it. I hadn't even jailbreaked it yet which is usually a first step for me after wiping and restoring
Simply put, IOS4 doesn't work on a 3G. Every person I know with a 3G that did it because itunes said so, feels they've been handed a suckier more unresponsive version of their phone. Even if your factory restore solution would work, it's an unacceptable solution being that it comes from Cupertino. I expect better of Apple's software upgrades. Typical iphone users don't know what factory firmware restore means. Apple shouldn't of even ported it. Manytimer, a new timer app that uses some of the new notification features, did not work in my brief experience with it. Not only do you not get half the features of the upgrade, but the simplest app's written for IOS4 won't work on the 3G ported version. IOS4 on the 3G is a bigger blunder than the antenna problem on the 4 IMHO. At least with the antenna issue, you can just buy a Zagg strap for it and there's no issues. Easy fix. There is no such thing for the 3G running IOS4
Each one of these has been an instant improvement in my day to day computing. I don't exactly understand your problem with scaling content. A more powerful computer and the natural progression of NEW content has always solved that
I wanted so badly a monitor with 1920x1200 native, but every single place that sells them on my island only has 1080p computer screens now.
They're not even labeled with resolution anymore. It's all 1080p models they say. Like they're selling fucking TV's.
Manufacturers should be sued for stupidfying the market.
I've seen a lot of mis information about starcraft 2. You don't need to be online to play it. You can do solo custom games or play the campaign without logging into battle net. It's not a full online only DRM. You don't even need the disc in to play in guest mode.
Blizzard is using copy encouragement instead of protection. I've given my disc to friends already so they can install it and play through the campaign. This will in effect get them hooked on the SC2 world and they will buy it too get onto bnet. Please stop calling it DRM. It's one of the best shining examples of how piracy should be fought. It should be embraced.
We're talking about software not performing artists. How would game developers tour? Most people wouldn't pay to see these guys, especially those that wouldn't pay to buy their development
There is no absorption of infrared. The waves are carried around the surface, reflect off what's behind it, and are then carried back around the surface again. Aberrations may be generated by the process, though it would be very convincing to the untrained mind that there was nothing there.
science is only of value when bias is removed. what the advocate is saying is green peace isn't responsible for the coal industry's current situation. running the numbers and coming to that conclusion, well that's just absolutely silly. green peace has no correlation to the coal industry. you're mind is obviously not free from emotion.
Thank you for the answer. It was very enlightening.
comments are for what the code is intended to do.
no one has ever put it that way for me before. you just blasted my mind sir

Will this once and for all debunk this theory?

My progression through resolutions over my life. Not one of these steps has been a doubling. They're all incremental.
640x200 -> 640x480 -> 800x600 -> 1024x768 -> 1280x1024 -> 1680x1050 -> 1900x1080

Acronyms are words made out of initials. You can't pronounce SLR; Thus it is, in fact, an initialism.
