I remember reading that Google was getting as many 75,000 job applicants in a week. And yet Google is struggling to candidates?
I have been in IT over 30 years, and in my experience, employers are always shortage shouting. They are shortage shouting while they are laying off thousands of US workers, they are shortage shouting as wages stagnate. They are shortage shouting when doing so completely defies all logic, and evidence. Asking employers if there is a shortage is like asking a ReMax agent if you should buy a house, the agenda should be obvious.
Worth nothing, objective studies never determine that there is any great shortages.
There is no sport in it. It is not "hunting" in the true sense of the word.
These elephant killing sickos just get off on pulling the trigger and killing a helpless animal. Yeah, real manly. Why not torture puppies also? That might be fun.

GoDaddy Backs SOPA

File thousands of silly patents, and sue MS right back. For major companies, like Motorola, that should not be a problem. Maybe several companies could sue MS at the same time - sort of MS, Apple, and Oracle, and suing Android companies at the same time.
Maybe, when the court are completely clogged with silly patent lawsuits, the government will fix the broken system. But, frankly, that is unlikely. For US politicians, campaign contributions from MNCs are their life's blood.
I say MS is a patent troll, along with Apple, and a lot of other companies. They aren't quite as repulsive as some of those east Texas companies that have never marketed a damned thing in their history, but they are still patent trolls.
I think that several of those east Texas companies work for MS, like Acacia.
There are people, and a lot of them, who want more than an e-reader, but less than a tablet
Why would you want less than a tablet? The extra features in tablet do you no harm. Why be vendor locked? Why be locked into one format? What good does that do you?
Tablets are faster, cheaper, have far more features, and are no more difficult to use. Why bother with the walled gardens?
If you want an eInk reader, then fine get a dedicated eReader. Otherwise get an Adroid tablet, not an LCD eReader.
A year ago, getting something that you could convert to a decent $250 Android tablet was a BFD. Today, not so much.
There were all kinds of great Black Friday deals: Acer Iconia for $200 and so on. You can still get a Vizio 8 at Costco for $189, or a Lenovo Idiapad A1 at Amazon for $199.
Get a real tablet and you are not vendor-locked. You can read any format you want, without excessive hacking. Plus tablets have way more features, like GPS, and cameras.
Um hell yes. And Duh nobody cares whats going on if Apple's not involved. The lawsuit craze started well before Apple came to the party. Just ask Jeff "one click" Bezeos.
Um no.
1) What frivilous IP lawsuits have been initiated from Google, HTC, Samsung, Motorola? Do we see those companies filing frivilous, BS, patents at rate of about one per week? Do we see those companies filing dozens of BS lawsuits in an effort to restrain free trade? And even if they did, would that excuse Apple?
2) The one thing that Apple really did invent was the frivilous IP lawsuit. Apple was filing these frivilous "look and feel" IP lawsuits back in the early 1990s - way before Amazon existed. Apple even beat MS to this shameful practice
and you did all that without using a hardware button right. Cause This is a patent for an interface/process that is on a touchscreen only and allows you to go directly back to the call from any app.
That does not change the fact that Apple routinely files frivilous patents, and patents the prior art of other companies; and then files dozens of lawsuits in clear attempt to restrain free trade.
Apple is just plain evil. We all know it. Who are you kidding?
You do realize Google is far more evil, by profiting indirectly off your personal information* from
What do you call "personal information?" Social Security number? Medical records?
Unlike Apple, Google does not try to restrain free trade by filing dozens of frivilous lawsuits.
I see a stunning lack of creativity in the Android crowd
What creativity is Apple suing about? This is yet another example of Apple patenting another companies invention. How often has Apple done that? Look up the JooJoo/Crunchpad, or the Sun7.
not to mention Google's scofflaw approach to just about everything it does, including redistributing millions of works of art without the author's permission.
By that you mean orphaned works, right? So what you are saying is that Google acted in the public good, and hurt absolutely nobody. Yeah, that seems real evil doesn't it?
You are spinning like mad in a pathetic attempt to smear Google. Nice try.
Boycotting godaddy will cost you nothing, it might even save you money.
And, for the most part, it's no more difficult to host with namecheap, or whatever.
Whereas, moving from your chosen OS platform can be a lot trouble, and expense.
Without quotes.
I think that the generally accepted number, is a little over 72,000.
Although, considering the millions of domains that godaddy is hosting, even72,000 is not that much.
GoDaddy lost 72,354 domains this week. It's not enough.
http://www.techi.com/2011/12/godaddy-lost-72354-domains-this-week-its-not-enough/
BTW: I very seriously doubt that godaddy only lost 1000 domain. I find it unlikely that godaddy would change it's stance on SOPA over 1k domains.

You are not stuck. At best, godaddy is nothing special. It's easy to move. Read this:

Godaddy's prices are easy to beat. Don't get suckered by the intro prices that lock you in, then go way up.

Best Christmas present ever.
The community has beating Gnome over the head for months now. But Gnome stubbornly refuses to go back to their less FUBAR interface.
What the hell is wrong with them?
Oh well, at least there's forking.

From what I have seen: OpenOffice is faster, but LibreOffice has more features.
I don't think this can happen because of incompatible licenses.

If consumers rejected this sort of brazen corruption, the companies themselves would change their behavior - they would have to do so.
This post deserves to be modded up.

Isn't that like patenting a "blue" car?
Nobody said they were the same. It was simply claimed that Apple uses a lot of FOSS technology.
Nice straw man argument.

Apple is not fighting to survive. I think Apple is the biggest software company in the world, they overtook MS some time ago.
Apple has been extremely profitable, and they have carved an extremely loyal segment of the market.
Apple is just plain evil, that's all there is to it.
And I am being perfectly civil.
