Im an undergrad MIS student at fsu. and im working on a sourceforge project with a couple of my professors. they didnt seem to mind the open source thing at all, infact they thought it was a wonderfull idea.
less then 2000 votes currently seperate gore and bush in the state of florida. i bet Al wishes his party had not pissed off the cuban american democrates now. I was a florida democrat until 4/22/00 (the day they seized elian) and would have given my vote to gore.
This years presidential race reminds me of my middle school sga elections. Its a popularity contest. neither candidate knows what they are talking about. neither candidate cares about the consitutional rights of american citizens. Both candidates are hypocrites, and i pray that the tech worlds effect on the american economy will beat out the negative effects either of these men will bring us.
put a 5 year old in an candy store. tell him what each type of candy looks like and how it tastes. now tell him to stay in the store, but not to eat any of the candy because it will wrott his teeth. do you honestly think the kid is not going to try any of the candy?
i went through the DARE program with my peers, i can tell you that at least 80% of my friends have tried drugs of all kind, many of which use them on a regular basis. The DARE program is a horrible, horrible failure, and should be discontinued ASAP.
if you read your history books, the first thing a totaliatian govnernment dose is disarm its citizens. you take a away our guns, and we loose our ablitly to protect are selfs. with our constitutional rights slowly being taken away from under us taking away our guns will be a final blow to the liberties and freedoms this country was founded on. how will the canidate protect our rights?
I would like to know how the canidates will protect our bill of rights. It seems like the government wants to take away our right to bare arms, freedom of religion (ask david koresh), even our rights of free speech (have you ever seem someone call a cop an asshole? if they dont get beaten up first, they go to jail real fast). Many people feel that we are living in a policed state, if we havent already reached this point, i strongly belive we are heading more and more in that direction. how will the canidate, if elected protect the values that founded this country.
55k a year? ive heard of MIS grads with no work experiance getting hired for 65k to learn vbscript. how much, if anything, do they wish to accomplish with a 55k a year budget?
People are going to starting getting sick of the RIAA's whining. Its like the Elian Gonzalez thing, people hear way to much about it, they get sick of it, and they either stop careing or they start hating the source of the problem.
The rich bastards over at the RIAA should stop while they are ahead. Public opinion is going change real quick if we keep watching them sue everyone for anything little thing having to do with mp3's.
