interesting enough the article says they allow freebsd licencing. dosnt hotmail use freebsd? kinda funny. I bet they use freebsd code everywhere. I wonder where they got the raw sockets code for XP.
For somereason when i read the title AI i thought computers, guns, take over the world. Instead kept thinking "I see dead people" through out the whole movie.. horrible flick. dont waist your time.
*mental note to self* - read the reviews before watching anymore movies.
Seeing as most people dont have the means to train dogs to sniff out drugs would this ruling apply? My buddy was driving through georgia a few months back and was pulled over on I-75 with Florida plates. Dogs where called in and he was sent to jail for about $5 worth of weed (1.5 grams). Shouldt the 4th amendment protect us from this kind of harrasment?
A few years back some big insurance firms figured out they could save a lot of money if everyone would ware seatbelts while driving. Big time money bought good lobbyists who made it a reality. Now (at least in Florida) you can be pulled over for not wearing a seat beat, fined $60, and according to a US supreme court ruling a few weeks ago, you can be arrested and taken to jail.
The RIAA realized that they could make a lot of money if they could control the electronic distribution of music. Many hard working citizens already developed the technology making this possible, the RIAA was to late, but they have allot of money. Now the RIAA is using its big money to push the hard working Americans out of the way so they can take back what they never had.
Its really sick if you start to think about it. How much of that $16.99 you spent for that last CD you bought really goes to the artist? How much of that is going towards legal teams destroying the hard work and dreams of American citizens? I'm a big supporter of a voluntary contribution system such as www.fairtunes.com. At least you know your money is going.
It is about money. Its the same reason you can be pulled over for not having a seat belt, fined and taken to jail. The RIAA is in the same boat as the insurance companies. Seat belts make the insurance companies spend less money. They lobby the hell out of governments, so they can spend less money. The RIAA lost control of an industry, and they are using money to get it back. Some how i doubt this is what Thomas Jefferson had in mind when he wrote the Delaration of Independance.
We've been seeing major problems with email protocols for years now. SPAM and forged headers are just some of the many problems that the current infrastructure possesses. It seems to me that a new secure mail protocol could be developed that would solve many of these problems and keep all the medalling Feds out of everyone's business.
and while your at it get one of those "laser beams" and drill a hole to the earths core. but seriously, id love having a tiny person following me around.. I might not be have any talent, no looks, and cant sing, but a midget following me around could just make me famous... ask kid rock
not to mention the fact that they take out 30% from every pay check. Dosnt anyone else find it odd that living in a so called democracy you can be sitting on your back porch smoking, be taken to jail, and still be force to pay a cut out of every paycheck? god bless america.
I wish I wound have kept a log of loss productivity due to windows crashes.. get good old Johnny Cochran to represent me, and bam, give me $10,000 per unlicensed blue screen
With MS Turning Screws on Customers the way they are, I would imagine that many mid size company's would turn to free software, instead of being faced with up to $10,000 per unlicensed product.
I had a very similar use for the mysql odbc drivers for Access. I had everything running smoothly except it was absurdly slow. Has anyone else experienced the same situation. I basically gave up, and used some php scripts as a management solution.
If the FCC let AOL/Time warner merge, it seems quite possible that they could look the other way if old billy decided to buy out one of the chip makers.
the funny thing to watch would be, if Microsoft merges with AMD, and the DOJ comes in and splits up the OS/Software company, which side will get to write software and make chips?
piracy is one thing, but any tool that will let you freely exchange information with out the fear of being smacked down by the man is protecting your rights as a human. do you like the idea of your every move being monitored by someone some where? do you like the idea of government storm troopers knocking down your door because they didnt agree with what you said? move to cuba or something.
the point is the fact that some people may not want the letter that they just sent there girl friend read by anyone, especially not some government nympho
ok, so what your saying is that elderly folks should be provided assistance when voting? if the person trully cared about what they were voting for, i think they would have asked for help. i know i would have. if you rush through your work day, you might get things done quicker, but that dosnt mean they got done right.
i think it was called sniff.c. it was placed lots of highschool networks, and was used to collent sensative information about teachers browsing habbits. (at least at my school)
I really dont understand why netscape (and IE for that matter) require an annoying setup app to be able to download the product. It would save the heck out of bandwidth if they made the download links avalible to the public. A company with 100 workstations that need browser upgrades could just as easily download one copy of the browser, and keep it on the lan, thats 99 less downloads of a huge file.
text editor for lazy people who dont learn vi
