It's not a licensing thing since Sony owns the EE and GS in the PS2. Its the fact that the GS had 4MB of embedded DRAM capable of 48GBytes/sec bandwidth. The PS3 does not have that kind of memory bandwidth in that quantity in either the RSX or Cell. Sony should have better integrated the GS requirements into the PS3 design. I'm sure the RSX or Cell could have benefited from 4mb's of embedded ram.
Well not sure if your aware of this but Hawaii has one of the biggest ranches in the United States.
SPAM may have become popular back in WW2 because of rationing and shipping issues but today that's really a non-issue, yet it's still popular. I'm guessing the reason it has stayed popular is because it goes well with rice and everyone eats lots of rice in Hawaii.
I'm originally from Hawaii and yes, I like SPAM(the Hormel kind). Although I think Hormel sueing over the SpamArrest name is rather rediculous.
Farscape is truly an epic, one that was planned to be played out in 5 seasons not 4. If you can keep an open mind and get past the weirdness factor, pay attention to the story and characters you'll understand why there are so many fanatical fans. Much like Star Wars the fate of the universe is in the main characters hands, wouldn't you be upset if the last episode of SW was never made? Farscape is a very unpredictable show with a large story arc and unlike the X-Files they actually reveal things. This past Friday's show tied into episodes from the first season.
Unfortunately I can see why so many people don't like it. It's a show that needs to be watched from the beginning and in the beginning it was a little bland at times IMO. There was more character building and less story. You must keep an open mind and pay attention because there are a lot of show tie-ins, and you may be left lost or confused otherwise. Actually you'll be left confused lots of time but it'll mostly be revealed in the following episodes.
SciFi is going to be rerunning Farscape episodes shortly after Friday for those who want to watch it from the beginning.
HDTV's highest resolutions are 1920x1080i or 1280x720p. I agree the resolutions probably won't be top of the line in 3 years but you can't expect 3 year old technology to support the newer resolutions. Plus creating new standards will only cause us to be stuck on NTSC for longer. HDTV is plenty good for now, granted I wish the frame rate was higher and there was a 1080p. But I don't want to be spending more than I already have on my HDTV equipment. HDTV's resolutions are plenty high for today's equip. Try and find a DLP projector that supports native HDTV resolutions.. Also Digital Projectors used in theaters to show Star Wars only has a resolution of 1280x1024 and they rent those for $100,000.
Ok, So technically they were probably using the browsercap.ini to control content. Does that really make the problem any less their fault? There is no reason they should not have fixed a simple problem like the browsercap ASAP. Well unless what they're trying to do is force people to use IE. Does this not shout monopolistic behavior? The people at Opera contacted M$ telling them of this problem and they did nothing. Only after lots of bad press did MSN fix it. Also IIRC earlier versions of Opera were also thrown for a loop by MSN. So without over simplifying things MSN was sending Opera the exact style sheet they wanted, but that style sheet would cause Opera 5+ to display MSN in a poorly formatted way. Had they just made a small change to their browasercap.ini to pass Opera IE's style sheet everything would of been hunky-dory.
I'm afraid we're going to continue to see the great shows get canceled and the crappy stand alone episode shows continue. Perhaps Farscape could of made it if they had shown more early reruns or if a big network picks it up and starts from the beginning. I still think SciFi did a poor job in promoting it. I'm surprised that Babylon 5 ran to completion since it had such a big running plot and was a little slow at times. Perhaps a miniseries like Taken/Dune is the only way we'll see new long epic's come to life and if that's the case I want my Farscape miniseries.
Someone should port Wizardry 1-5 to the Palm pilot. Being able to play those classics on the go would rock. Although we wouldn't be able to pop the disk drive open to prevent it from saving our deaths but it'd still be fun.
Try that with a site like Engadget.... Sites that don't let you switch to desktop view are the worst IMO.

Thats strange, AntiVir was the only one out of the 3 I could install on Windows Server 2003.

Try Simpsons + Farscape = Farsons
