To be realistic, honest, and all the rest with regards to Canadian politics. When shit hits the fan, the government up here actually does listen, despite all the people who whine and cry about the government being conservative. This has been shown time and again to be true, from Towes being called down for his stupidity. To the government standing against the CRTC and threatening to rip them apart, and take over the mandate regarding how incumbents can charge TPIAs(third party internet providers), to various issues with disclosure laws that the government wants to bring into play. Whether it be public outcry, or the courts themselves saying "not legal."

And following with that, this government has presided over a period when the rest of the G7 countries slowed down to a snails crawl and we still had moderate to strong economic growth.

You know who really spreads the "plutocrat propaganda" up here? The public broadcaster(CBC), and left-leaning media(such as Torstar). Which no one really pays attention to, as most evidenced by their declining circulation numbers.

I've done the whole support bit before, and the cycle is so cyclical that it's scary. The victim is responsible, the problem of course is that the victim is self conditioning themselves and the abuser is reinforcing it. You can bet that following up you'll see one of the following if they went back you'd see a standard following of control from restricting movements, to controlling who she could or couldn't see.

But you're right, she doesn't have the cognitive process to learn from the mistakes and grow. She's empathizing with her abuser, and trying to change them...because they believe they can change them. Because the abuser is telling them so.

Because there aren't shelters filled with abused men and their children they took with them when they escaped the abusive relationship (that I'm aware of). I'm sure that won't stop your miserable whining, though.

Fun fact: That's because there are very few shelters for men.

We've got a couple here in Canada, and they're heavily used. The abuse industry, and I will call it that for good reason has done quite a bit of work pushing the "only men can be abuses" belief. And have pushed it so hard that it's skewed court and family court against men. It of course also doesn't help that there's a huge social stigma on the "the wife/gf/so/etc" beat up the guy. With the "why didn't you stand up for yourself, etc.," bit. Police don't care one way or the other in the case of a domestic here, and try to find the primary person who instigated it. But if the women is the one, there really isn't anywhere for the guy to go.

But let's move onto the homosexual side. Depending on what study you want to cite, the abuse rates between both same sex couples hit as high as 70%, for the women again there's a place they can go to. For the men, not so.

My buddies '91 saturn also used 1 key. It was pure laziness on the automakers part to use more than one key, there were some technical limitations such as back then the steering shaft tumblers would wear slower than the door locks causing the ignition not to be able to start. And of course, you get the same things on the PC for nothing. Well isn't that fun? And we shouldn't forget that unlike the consoles which may or maynot be dumped in say 6-8 years, you can take your games with you. Chances on the consoles, little to none.

In 6 years, I'm not sure if you're still wanting to be using this box for gaming, or if you've gave up and bought another $150 video card (3 more years for PSN/XBL) somewhere in the meantime.

Since that mid-range card will probably be working just fine, you can probably push it to 5 years if you're lucky. Works better when you're in the middle of a current generation of consoles considering the crap ports and all that. But, since the current GPU's on consoles are already beat by two year old video cards--then getting 5 isn't a problem.

And with PC games costing $60, well, the console premium for a game just doesn't exist anymore.

PC games might cost $60, but I haven't yet seen a sale even for pre-releases on PC games where you can't find them for as low as 50% before release.

Granted, though, Steam may have more frequent sales, though apparently that can be to negative effect as it means people using Steam refuse to pay full price, artificially depressing PC game sales.
