Your lack of perspective is due to the fact that you can't tell the difference between environmentalists and hippie nutjobs. That's as bad as thinking every Republican is Rush Limbaugh.
I live in Ontario, in turn there's this city called Toronto. Which believes that it's the centre of the universe much like California. There is no difference between environmentalists and hippie nutjobs.
That it'll be attributed to a improper maintenance/improper sealing of some kind against corrosion. It's that's the second on the list with cars up here when gasoline leaks aren't the cause. The first is of course gasoline leak related, the third is usually modifications to the exhaust system which cause body frame fires. We use *a lot* of salt on the roads here in the winter, and I mean a lot. It's just so damn cheap since we have mines for it all over the place between Ottawa and Windsor(Windsor Salt for example), and man places are in a locked in 100 year contract.
Odd, I thought I had plenty of perspective. After all, if what you said was true then environmentalists wouldn't throw a hissyfit over nuclear power, or even waste to energy facilities. But they do, and they do so in a very hard way. Many of them simply don't "want" them at all, just like they don't want coal/oil/NG/etc power plants. Hell, I've even seen them against methane reclamation from cow and pig shit.
I'm oddly getting rather pissed at the manipulative headlines, followed by the "well it's bad anyway, we should simply not do it at all" mentality that seems to be permeating from environmentalist, but also academia. Now maybe I'm off in the wild, but it sure seems like their only solution is the dark ages, with 1/3 or less the number of humans. Because "it's the only way."
Do people still think cell phones cause gas pumps to explode? Some of my early cell phones had warnings about that in their manuals.
I don't think that a cell phone would cause a gas pump to explode, but let's say static discharge or a faulty battery cell could. Just as much as someone with a pickup truck that has a plastic liner could cause the same thing. Or you could, should the fumes in the air be sufficient and the grounding wire from the pump had failed.
Yeah, so did mine until I pointed out that hydrostatic measuring, or ADP are really the only good ways to measure it. It's such a poor method of measurement that if you asked someone to piss in a glass and used that to measure their body fat, it would probably be more accurate. If you go look up the history of BMI(including the peered research on it), you'll quickly find out exactly how flawed it is. It's right up there with astrology in terms of a "science."
Because you dislike advertisements, you want to use a browser made by an advertising company?
Pretty sure you meant "because you dislike advertisements, you want to to use a browser made by an advertising company which will also pillage and rape your personal information."
Oh just wait until you come to Canada, neighboring the US especially in Southern Ontario or Alberta you have: Meat, veggies, fruit and bulk goods weighed in, grams and lbs. Lumber by the ft, and meter, road signs in various spots in mph and km/h. Liquid in containers, in fl oz, quart and ml, or liters. And to top it all off you get screwed over when buying gasoline.
Then again, you could go to the UK and get baffled by stones.
See in North America, we have this premise that "whatever is not spelled out in law is permitted." In turn, permits for things like this are so stupid, that it borders on the line of assine. And why do you ask? Because government generally believes through the will of the people that they're grown-up enough to make proper choices on their own.
And if Canada, Japan, S.Korea and the US are "somalia" then the Nordic countries are a very small step away from Stalinist Russia.
You stupid fucks are basically now Public Nuisance #1. It's gotten nothing done and it should get nothing done because any number of simple assholes shouldn't have any affect on any SYSOPs policies.
Odd, because it does seem to somewhat have gotten their attention going by the feedback thread. But I guess when the majority of the commenter base says they don't like something, they should just shut up because someone doesn't have an opinion on it. Gee, isn't that the same mentality the people whine and cry about, when government does something and no one speaks up?
I hope you have a shitty fucking day!
Perhaps, just perhaps it's time to grow up a bit. After all, who hopes for something like that on someone.
It is getting a little annoying. We made our point (in spades I'd say). Dice knows full well if they pull a stunt like that again, they'll have another revolt. I'd say, for now, it's time to back off a little bit.
No, I'd say not. I'm only posting today after a several day hiatus. Then I'm heading back to my hiatus. If DICE knew full well, then they'd have already taken the feedback from the various users and have mocked up a semi-functional or non-functional new beta that reflected what the commenters were talking about. As it stands right now, it appears that they haven't listened, and haven't done anything to counter peoples opinions that it indeed sucks beyond the "we're listening." And I've heard the "we're listening" mantra before, and it means..."we heard you, and FUCK YOU. We're doing what we want anyway."
The comments in the "we're listening thread" generally reflect that sentiment as well.
Considering that in the last batch of laws that was passed, there was 60k pages of regulations, half of which were from the EPA? I'd say that anti-EPA at this point is just fine. Where laws wouldn't pass, it's become the domain of "regulations" to fuck everyone over.
I figure my best go-though to stat with will be to stop commenting. With that if they continue to go through with the beta I'll just take my warm revenue generating body somewhere else.
Sorry, gotta get the nimby's and the environmentalists to piss off first. Since they're the ones who throw a hissyfit every time someone wants to build one...and that of course includes safer and better designs.
Seems as though the police should actually want people to know about the speed traps. I mean, the ultimate goal for the police is to have everyone follow the law.
Correct. The problem is that police forces, services, departments, and so on have infiltrated by political bottom feeders who want results, money, and stats. Not talking, warnings, and tickets in that order.
Unless your frontline guy is a total asshole, that isn't what they want to do. And yeah they exist, the majority would rather have a talk with you, jot it down in their book and let you go. It's the guys above them that have pushed this. The OPP in Canada are infamous for this, so are the RCMP. Everyone above the rank of Staff Sgt have long since fallen to politics, and in some cases they're political appointees...never having spent a day in their life on the beat.
Quite you. Your new DICE overlords don't believe in UID's having any value, and they don't value data density. They believe in being the next gawker with a horrible UI that will make them trendy and hipsterish.
Well Bruce Nuclear which is one of the largest power generating sites in the world cost 14.4B, and has a generating capacity of ~6300MW. Most of which is sold to the US. So I guess it depends on what you define as cost effective, since the reactors have long since recouped their cost since '77.
If your statement was true, then my sister wouldn't work in a nearly male dominated job. Do it well, and kick their asses over it. Realistically, there is no interest in it for most. At one time my sister had a great interest in the sciences and math, it died after oh grade 11 or so. She'd placed in the top 5 of the pascal mathematics tests 4 times starting in grade 8(this was back before they allowed calculators for everything).
She became more interested in management, then law, and went to work in the prison system as a guard at a max security prison. She couldn't pass the prep tests for policing, because she'd had hip surgery after a karate tournament accident. And really, shes never had a problem with the "sexism and harassment" BS as she put's it. It's the "little girls who want their cake and eat it too," and are "unwilling to show the assholes that I can give as good as I get."
In most places outside of the US, EULA's are considered non-binding and in extreme cases only applicable if signed. With that, most places have consumer laws that override the "you can not sue" clause in them. As various companies who operate in Canada and Germany have recently found out.
No, the real non news is when people believe they are entitled to something, they will continue to find ways to steal it.
If I have a levy being smashed against my face when buying *insert whatever item(s) it may be* I'm pretty sure I'm going to feel entitled to do whatever the hell I want. After all, the government has already decided I'm infringing with no proof.

Or, you know, get a little perspective
Odd, I thought I had plenty of perspective. After all, if what you said was true then environmentalists wouldn't throw a hissyfit over nuclear power, or even waste to energy facilities. According to the article snip-it here on /.? Yes. You're also a bottom feeding 1% who doesn't feel for the little guy.
Odd, I run tomato. Which is also 'nix, so saying that ddwrt is the only way for sure isn't true.

That's the sort of thing fat people complain about. Most people use it as a general reference, not exact science.
Better let all those insurance companies in the US know then. Because many if not most, require BMI as the "determining factor in coverage."
Yeah, so did mine until I pointed out that hydrostatic measuring, or ADP are really the only good ways to measure it. Considering that people believe that BMI is an actual method to measure body fat? I wouldn't doubt it.
Because you dislike advertisements, you want to use a browser made by an advertising company?

Because I, for one, don't understand a FUCKING thing about allllllll of this Anti-Beta graffito all over Slashdot.
Well that's easy to fix. Here, let's get you going on what's wrong, just use this site for a day or so and get back to us.
You stupid fucks are basically now Public Nuisance #1. It's gotten nothing done and it should get nothing done because any number of simple assholes shouldn't have any affect on any SYSOPs policies.
