  1. where are all the B&W silent films??? on CGI About to Boom In Hollywood · · Score: 1

"Clearly, there is less traditional .... but eventually something will come along and swing the pendulum back in that direction."

Yeah...and next year everyone will be releaseing their films in black and white with no sound.....ok..there has been some black and white films made in recent times..but most are art house and fringe...my guess that "traditional" animation will go to the fringe as well...on wards and upwards...we may not always learn from our mistakes...but we sure know how to make things look prettier.

  2. Linux Pride on Linux On the Desktop: 0.24 Percent? · · Score: 1

Well at least I can stand up and say I am proud to be 1 of the .24% that uses Linux almost exclusivly for my work (servers at an ISP) and at home. I think it is fantastic to think that it may be true that 1 in 400 surfers are now using this fantastic operationg system. One day soon it may even be 2.4% . Well done Linux! No matter how much Microsoft lovers put down Linux. I am just glad I have the choice to not use Microsoft products(and Mac, and Sun, and BSD...and even Linux if I didn't want to). Where as only a few years ago if I wanted a cheap desktop computer with a sturdy usable operating system...well....you know what choices I would have had!

  3. who writes history? now we all do. on Do Digital Photos Endanger History? · · Score: 1

This is ridiculus. History is never the full truth. It's just a story of events that happend in the past. Technolgy is allowing more information to be collected and stored in greated qauntities because now the average consumer can not only publish words but pictures and video via the web. Once upon a time people couldn't even read or write. Back then monks and aristocrates wrote history. Now anyone can...and because they can hopefully generations will look back at the coming of the internet and web age as a time when the recording of histi\ory was becoming more and more "truthful". Probably a flawed argument but I think noone has really brought it up this way yet.

  4. Live Music on Music Industry Forcing WMA standard? · · Score: 1

My ways of getting around copy protection.

    1) Listen to the radio...it's free

    2) Go to live music events (they are free if you sneek in or know the promoter :oP)

    3) Make your own music.

Simple effective and whats more those stinking middle men are not getting one cent of my money.
