  1. TrackMan Marble>>buy one now! on MS Introduces Optical Mouse · · Score: 1

I have one of the first marbles that Logitech produced and I still love it. It's much easier to keep clean than traditional mice, and the optical action of the ball is smoooooooth.

  2. 4 Network cards... on NT faster than Linux in tests · · Score: 1

My understanding regarding multiple NICs in one box is that you need to specify how many NICs you have in your lilo.conf if you're using ISA-based cards. The PCI-based drivers automatically detect all of the NICs on your bus and you don't need to pass any special parameters to the kernel. I don't know if this holds true for all of the Linux network drivers, but I do know that this is the case if you're using the ne2000 drivers.

  3. Keep the old logo, Rob! on Silicon Graphics rebrands itself as 'SGI' · · Score: 1

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and cast my vote to keep the old logo around too. The new one is just doesn't hit me like the old one did when I first saw it...

  4. Right On on Katz vs. Taco: The Matrix · · Score: 1

I agree on both counts. Seeing that panning effect on every other commercial now is very annoying and shows how uncreative some of the tv people are, but this effect really belonged in this movie. All of the slow-motion panning and movement really lent itself to this film (particularily the fight sequences) and gave the audience some sense of what could be done in the matrix.

    3 cheers for the Taco!

  7. Nice reading on Feature:The Two Towers · · Score: 1

Nice job on this article. I'm not a big Open Source Activist (I do support it whole-heartedly, though), but this article does a good job of pointing out the things that our community should not forget in our push to get Linux into new software arenas.

  8. Colour cases on Cooler Cases · · Score: 1

I did this too, although I spray-painted my case before the components for it arrived....The whole removable shell is a dark blue color (like a Zip drive), and the front bezel is mostly blue, with the drive areas and power switch retaining their natural whitish color. I used normal spraypaint with a coat of some clear spraypaint stuff, but I've still got a few chips in the paint in the spots where I bang the case into things...
