From the very start price was the biggest failing point for the Surface. They were crazy to price it at $499 WITHOUT their key marketing point...the keyboard case.
As a younger developer (~5 years) I often wonder what it was like to be in the industry 25 years ago, before the web is what it is today. Documentation is ALL online. I only read software books for academics or to learn something new. In order to get the job done, there is no substitute to google and/or sites like stack overflow.

I have been using the Android port NativeBOINC for quite a while now. Just recently they even added support to my favorite program, Einstein@Home.

I live close to the new NSA data center in Bluffdale, Utah. Currently we are under a drought with widespread municipal water restrictions, yet the NSA surveillance center requires 1.7M gallons of water daily to operate.
