If I'm going to blow a ton of money on a car, I either want a car that goes really fast (no heavy batteries) or gets ungodly fuel mileage (pure electric). I'm not a fan of in-between solutions.
Anything past two isn't going to help me for what I use my computer for the vast majority of the time. I have much less time to play computer games these days and everything with Firefox or other common applications are single processes anyway.
I'd rather spend my money on beer than extra cores.

In Albany, NY there are a few job openings as a result of this. I saw a very simple technology specialist position open up that is paying $50,000 + government benefits for kids straight out of college. The economy is fine as long as you are in the right field.
