There's an extra charity to give money to, maybe that's why. Plus probably quite a lot of people want to beat the average to get Signal To Noise. I read it a few years ago, it's pretty good but a bit weird (which could probably describe anything NG's done except for the cannabilism porn).
Luckily we have more than one cosmologist, so it's not really a problem if some try new explanations (and maybe get to test them), because we have other cosmologists doing other things. Or are you going to suggest that there's only one cosmologist, going backwards and forwards through time and across the whole universe?
I've been reading this off-and-on for about the last year, nearly finished now. It's incredibly fucked up how there's people who don't really want to kill anyone, but if how they make money leads to people dying or being tortured, they'd like to make their money thanks very much. (although I guess you could say the same to some extent about anyone who's better off in Western society.)
Other than that, I read 'For Richer, For Poorer' by Victoria Coren a few months ago. It's basically about her poker-playing. I'm not particularly interested in poker (I watch it on TV sometimes, but don't really play), but I liked it.
Worth noting that if you get the aye-aye phone, there's no need to get a stylus.
I fairly recently got a message on some Safari page (probably from an ad) that an app I didn't have needed to update. Maybe that's what happened?
