I thought everyone had long since switched to making virtually all their calls via the phonebook function in their cellphone.
People talk to their pets all the time, and although most pets have just as much of a chance of understanding what's being said as most computers, that doesn't strike people as odd.
From the article it sounds like space is a fine place to have sex, just not to be pregnant.
