  2. James Bond's teenage fantasy come true on MPAA Agent Poses As Homebuyer To Catch Pirates · · Score: 2

This seems like a scheme James Bond would have a wet dream abut at night! The fact that the MPAA went through all this trouble to get these people seems a slight bit more than over zealous one would say. How is it that the MPAA can bring their own investigators and then invite the police along later after they made a complaint... and then to top it off when the authorities decide that their little investigation didnt pass the "sniff" test, they then convince the U.S. authorities to go after the guy who wrote some code for the site. Seems to me the MPAA is acting as their own department of justice and then just asking the goverment to go along and help when they cant get justice another way..shady as hell is an understatment

Yes thanks I am aware of it. Did not turning it over do him any good? So instead he went to court and was sentanced to jail for not turning it over and had it reported in the media that he was a suspect in a Child Expoltation case. Reading postings like that can make "freedom of speech" sound like a weak and foolish defense. This is not a fetish property, it's criminal.

Then he summoned all the power of the force ( herein known as George's legal team ) ( He tried to rally the Sand People as they are always willing to fight , but they said they couldn't help due to being written out of the last 5 of George's movies ) to help battle back against those that would rebel against the good of the force ( also known as George's profit margin ) But you can't blame the guy...it has been a great cash cow and one hell of a legacy he left behind from that first movie in the sci fi genre

Well I wonder how Ml will like this, His Lawyers have said that she recorded him and then asked for money and said it was extorsion. She recorded him using her IPhone ( and I am guessing using this app ) when he/she were talking on the phone, she claims she did it cause she felt threatend. Now those tapes were supposed to be sealed but as we all know they " leaked " out. So I wonder if this desicion would efect his case as there seems to be some similarties. I wonder why Apple would let an app like that thru the app store. I also wonder if the app creator or apple could have some culpability if someone took them to task as well as the phone owner for allowing them to record someones conversationwithout there knowledge. I also was under the impression you couldn't recored someone without telling them you are doing so, and if you did it was illegal and not admissable in court...I see a lot more of these cases coming down the pipe I think..

I agree with you on this, but it seems the Lobbyists run Goverment and control more of what " they want " to see get passed in legislation. Our elected officials seem to forget what they were elected for and by whom. It seems those with the money to grease politicians, and the process to get anything done will always be in the drivers seat

  11. Well you can always hope on Legislation To Make Web Devices Accessible To Disabled Users · · Score: 1

While this has merit, those who would like to see this occur thru legislation are going to be stuck in limbo land. The goverment is too damn slow and I doubt would care, because unless this is going to get them some accolades in the press, they can't seem to be bothered to do something good for the people. That being said I think a lot of companies will not bother to try and do something like this just because they won't spend the cash needed, and for some it would be too cumbersome. There are a lot of devices out there that I am sure the disabled would love to have and I agree they should have access to them, I dont think we will see this legislation pass. Half the goverment can even decide on things before them now. Unless you have the lobbyists and the companies to participate then, I would doubt you would see the goverment slam down the legislation for it, they dont like to make any waves it seem most of the time

  12. Assange knew this was coming but.... on Obama Wants Allies To Go After WikiLeaks · · Score: 1

If anyone thinks Assange and Wikileaks didn't see they this was going to make them a target of the goverment, well give us a call when you get back from Fantasy Island. . Assange knew before hand this wasn't going to make him Employee Of The Month with anyone in the Various goverments that are involved in Afghanistan. Thhe other Papers that got the info before it came Public was almost a form of insurance in case he got caught with the info before Wikileaks put it in the public eye. I don't agree with Assange's crass attitude to The floks at Amnensty International and those that pleaded with him to " take innocent peoples names that could be put in harms way out of the documnets" . I think thats more than resonable and a proper thing to do and yopu would think Assange for all his drum banging and chest beating about the publics rights for this, and the protections for that would be concrened as well. Well not entirely it seems, when Assange didn't like what Amnest had to say, his response was to tell them he put bout a press release unless they bowed to his wishes, and then later on Assange posted on Wikileaks' Twitter feed saying " the site, which claims it has 800 volunteers, needs $700,000 to conduct a "harm-minimization review". A later Tweet added: "Pentagon wants to bankrupt us by refusing to assist review. Media won't take responsibility. Amnesty won't. What to do?"" Huh?? Assange seem to be letting the popularity he and Wikileaks are getting inflate his ego a tad too much, so know the Media or Amnesty responsible for posting the info if it puts people in harms way? Assange seems to need to have some one else is to blame, when things get hot in the Kitchen Assange having obtained a load of documents that belong to someone else, didn't seem to be worried that if they make the documents wen't public a number of people may die as a result??? Assange seems to have the belief that the responsibility for any such deaths will lie with the military from whom the documents were taken, Amnesty International and the Media. Assange seems to believe that anybody but he or Wikileaks will bare responsiblity for the results of actions which He choose to take. Yes the goverment has culpability too, but they didnt choose to leak this documents with anyones name in it did. He doesn't think those against the Taliban or groups they have ties with will punish those who help any foreign agency or goverment. Well your worng Assange there have been plenty of storeis about that going on and everyone knows this. Assange seems to have drank to much of his own Jonestown Kool-Aid drunk on power and seems to have developed a sense of self importance that is beyond what has to do with wy Wikileaks was started and what the beliefs and reasons behind it were. Assange is driving a fine vehicle of democracy on the wrong side of the road, and he's damn well liable to kill people while driving down it. Assange has seemingly forgotten that with power comes responsibilty, he expects other to take responsibilty and be accountable for their actions, but then shirks it when it comes to his own. C'mon Assange you can't have it both ways...

  13. The Police love technology until.... on Facing 16 Years In Prison For Videotaping Police · · Score: 2, Interesting

Well I think everyone would have seen this coming, for years the Police all over have used CCTV and any kind of camera images still or video to look for people and even ask the publics help in finding individuals, they use it in bait cars and in surveillance and of course they love it and use it in the courts regularly. I find it hypocritical that they want to use the technology as long as it isn't being iused against them. How many case have been caught on tape by their own Police dash cams ( If you remeber the 4 police officers that were hatching how to frame an accident one of their officers caused against the driver of the car the officer hit ) as an example, and how many other instances were the Police were saying to the public in a press release put out by their OWN infomation office of how an incident went down and then a tape pops up showing different. In the eyes of the court an officers word carries a lot of weight over an individuals word. This smacks of intimadtion, There are a lot of instances were the Police and Prosecuters take a law and twist and turn it to use as an an advatgae and not within the bounds it was mean for... and I think this case is a prime example of that. If you have honest Police officers doing nothing wrong, well then the tape will show that, so why would they be concerned. I think even though this could be the case here I think the Police are doing what The Chinese goverment does to its people " We will tell you what the truth is, Not what you see or hear " . If something had happened during this traffic stop to the officer , do you think the Police would be going after this guy for taping it? I doubt it, my guess is they would be seeking the tape to help prove and prosecute the case against the individual. This comes across to me as they dont want anything out there that could be used against them. I think this is beyond a blatant abuse of the law.
