The positions of school administration (especially in New Jersey) is political. This sounds more like the principal is worried about his job and felt threatened by the posts rather than worried about the school or students. What if some people read it and think he's doing a bad job?
The police are under the executive branch. When the President signs a law, he can make a 'signing statement'. This gives direction to the people in the executive branch for following the law. These 'signing statements' have been used to *IGNORE* certain parts of laws passed by congress. Bush has given more 'signing statements' than any other President in history.
This includes whistleblower laws. He's basically ignoring them.
You are probably referring to employment law or environmental law. In the US and UK you are free to elect a representitive that has a part in changing those laws. I doubt it is that way in China. In China, I am sure you are free to do what you wish as long as the government agrees with what you are doing.
It must be very exciting to grow up in the 'new' China despite the one party rule. The booming economy, new technology and new wealth must be exciting. At least if you are on the 'correct' side of the economic boom.
It is my hope that China will prosper, and that bounty will bring about a democratic change that respects the rights of the minority as well as the majority.
Democracy and freedom are very awsome and cool. The human heart yearns for them, no matter what culture. You will see it. Children will grow bold and speak out against their parents, their government. It will be a slow change but it will happen.
The solution to the short range of the vehicle is to have a battery changing station network. You drive your car over the changer and it reaches up, plucks your battery out and replaces it with a fresh one.
You wouldn't own the battery, you would just have an agreement with the chnaging station.
Is the Chinese government kinder and gentler than in 1989 when the Massacare occured in Tienanmen square? Do you even know of this? I would say this is evidence of an overly heavy handed government. People were killed in the hundreds for daring to publicly call for democracy.
With that being said, I do believe the Chinese government is going to have to change and adapt. They won't be able to stop people from seeing the world and having wants and needs. Prosperity will lead to democracy and the Chinese middle class is taking root.
I am sure it is grown up now, but those of us who were exposed to it 10 years ago are going to treat it like a city park built on top of a radioactive landfill. That one looks much friendlier, I will admit.
I prefer Safari. In fact, wikipedia is turning into a very useful resource for getting answers. In any case, now that the web has matured, obtaining answers is not all that difficult anymore.
The UNIX community does have a barrior of entry and still does to some extent bootstrapping n00bs. Someone coming into the community, and wanting to learn about it has no idea at first where the documents even are. RTFM can be countered with WTFITFM (Where The Fuck Is the Fucking Manual)?
Unless you consider that kids still have access to the pornography and no amount of "education" is really going to block them or persuade them from accessing it.
Just tell them that the boobies are fake. But seriously, you are saying that kids never listen to adults. You are saying that if they were to view porn, they'd expload or something. They are going to give adults the same amount of respect that they get.
What do you think would happen to their little minds if they saw some of the disgust-o porn? They will probably think "ewwwwwww" and no, they won't be scarred.
A prey population without preditors will grow until the food supply is exausted, then their population will crash suddenly. Preditor populations grow slowly in comparison with prey populations.
The simplest reason is that its kind of embarrasing for the government and some beaurocrats are there to cover their asses. John Lennon had some potential political influence and that made him a target, especially because he was a scumbag hippie type.
Especially when you consider that coal plants release more radiation into the air than nuclear plants due to traces of isotopes encountered during normal mining.
In addition, the new generation of nuke plants no longer use the metal oxide but the metal reactant. If the reaction starts to head out of control, the heat expansion of the metal lowers the density, which in turn lowers the rate of reaction.
After a point, this situation becomes a question of who can program the better bot. The proliferation of online gaming (not just online gambling) is a fertile ground for AI development.
Here we have a need - develop a money winning bot that is difficult to detect as such - driving bot artificial intelligence. This isn't just for the gameplay, but any chat that would go with the gameplay. I'd assume that winning silent players would be kicked out of the games after a time.
No one could beat IBM.
Would you wish to deny marriage to couples that do not want to (or cannot) have children?
Some people want to get married because they want to spend the rest of their lives together, not merely for procreation.

If a President routinely uses signing statements to effectivly blunt laws in order to bypass the legislative process, I would consider that treason.

This story involves the destruction of a building, the immediate declaration of enemies, the torture of suspects. This all happened in 1933, folks.

You compare this to rape? It's not.
What a souless mechanized sanitized society you crave.
But you really can't think of a way where we could have a power distribution network for electric vehicles?
I'm more thinkning that things could be re-engineered.

Now, I'm trying to think if I can find anything wrong with that.
I know that Saddam is a Sunni, but he barely waved the religious banner; he supressed religion in general.
The Baathists were known to be secular. What religious minority are you speaking of?
How about Oaklahoma City?
Also,
Muslim Pakistan and Shi Lanke and Indonesia have had female heads of state.
