  1. Only if it's cheap... on IBM's New USBKey Device · · Score: 2

I personally refuse to use floppys now (entirely too unreliable) and this seems like a great idea for students that don't have/use net access to transfer files between home and school.

It'd also be nice to have a small battery and an IR feature for PDAs.

.. and you don't have to worry about AIDS. Been said several times over already. I might have complained if this was over a "remedy" for an airborne disease, but it's not. In this case, the people of Africa or any county/continent can choose for themselves, whether abstinence or other means.

is the $7-9 per month to service and maintain per user? If that's the case, I hope they would have discontinued service a long time ago. I'm guessing it's per line which hopefully would be much less than 7+ million/month.

  4. beta carotene must be absorbed as an oil on Golden Rice · · Score: 1

To absorbe beta carotene, you must digest it in oil form.. dry or wet rice with beta carotene in it will not necessecarily mean that you will be able to absorbe it. I believe this has been tried already, but most rice eaters pick out the orange colored rice because it does not look 'natural'.

and changes.. not really that ingenious of an idea, but it's interesting to see some of the cycles of computing:
    • large mainframe, bunch of little terms
    • users have their own PCs
    • back to simple terminal running on remote server. see the fairly recent Sun Ray
    • now the 2C Computing hybrid
