"When Microsoft starts leveraging their monopoly on your search and ad business, do you think the DOJ will give a rat's ass when you complain to them?"
I think that that would be the intergrated search feature in Vista.
'Search Users can search documents, e-mail, contacts, and Web sites right from their desktop. Windows Vista searches are not limited to the local computer and can include shared folders, and other network resources. For all those times users think, "I know I've seen that somewhere, but where was it?" search capability makes it easy to find the content that user is looking for.'
According to many people our 'self awareness' that makes us 'human over animals' is our soul. According to science this happens when the frontal lobes start to gain their myelin sheath, this doesn't happen until several months after birth.
If the 'baby' has no soul then it is an animal and killing it is not murder.
At around the age of 10 the their are still large areas of the frontal lobes that still do not have a myelin sheath, and even at the age of 20 the myelin sheath isn't complete. That's probably why we 'mature' mentally as we get older.
parent is a TROLL, and only goes to show that you can use statistics to prove anything you want.
Same as Poor != Stupid, Rich != Intelligent, but if you stupid you've more change of being poor and if you smart you've more change of being rich, so their a higher percentage or poor stupid people then rich stupid people and a higher percentage of rich intelligent people that poor intelligent people.
Evolution != progression to a superior being.... Well, that depends on what you mean by superior doesn't it! If you had a colony of really smart people and a colony of really dumb people, even if the smart people only had 1 child each and the dumb people had 50 each there would still be evolution happening in the smart (my choice of superior) as well as the dumb camp.
Evolution == reaction to environmental stress. Yes, but not so much in the case of humans today, except for a few extream diseases and conditions where we may be breading resistance to. If the 'weak' aren't being taken out of the gene pool then theres no evolution going on except for things like retro viruses spreading genes. There are basically three ways of being taken out of the gene pool
1: You die before you have kids
2: All your kids die
3: Humans split up into groups and don't bread with humans from another group.
1, doesn't happen that often in the (in modern societies) but is getting more common because people are choosing not to have kids. 2, is incredibly rare (in modern societies) 3, isn't supposed to happen in a classless society, but I don't know too many poor people marrying rich people.
1 and 2 are a response to environmental stress 3 isn't.
As a for the 'Religion != absence of rational thought' troll, People who commit suicide don't have an absence of irrational thought, it's just that the rational thought they do have is limited.
"If "intelligent" people are choosing not to have offspring, then their genes are committing suicide, and good riddance.". Their just having less offspring so that when the oil runs out they control a huge proportion of the world assets and their not going to be running around like rats. We all go back to a class society of the few rich ruling over the millions of poor and world order is restored.
Your not poor, stupid, religions person who had a million children so that they could look after you in your old age are you?
If I was putting a patent application in I would make sure I covered writing and reading. I can't see it being too hard or costly to add a clause : A method of clause 1 where by the data is read from the drive etc....
1) Yeah the syntax is similar, but there are still large differences. Scripting vs OOP.
You can write OO Javascript (it's fun too!!!), writing OO VB 6 is even more fun that that.
3) Basic C++ and Java are fairly similar, and you shouldn't really be doing 'complex' C++ 90% of the time and about 50%+ of the time Java style C++ is perfectly fine (You should only be using 'complex' C++ (tones of templates, operator overloading, inner classes etc....) when writing libraries that are going to be reused and hopefully well tested)
C++ to Java can be tricky, especially if your used to templates, multiple inheritance, pointers etc....
BTW: Wow, that's the second time I've seen fox pro being used, the other time was in an atomic weapons facility! It seems quite good, but totally different, I hope it's not too buggy (for the sake of the people who live near the atomic weapons place)
1) The syntax is similar (point of the original post) 3) See #1 4) Mono doesn't support everything that.net does, J2EE (everything Java does) is supported on may platforms and JBOSS and Tomcat support EJB and JSP as do many other proprietary vendors.

If your going to suggest learning C# then you may as well suggest switching to Java because . 1: It makes Javascript easier. 2: It makes c# easier 3: It makes C/C++ style coding easier. 4: You are no longer locked into a single vendor on a single platform.
Oh and it's free or you can pay for JRockit, and the IDE (Eclipse) is free, or you can use JBuilder foundation or pay for a better version of JBuilder or even maybe a Microsoft product etc....
So, go look up the patent (not need to do any reverse engineering and send it off to someone who lives in a country that doesn't have software patents. They will then be free to write a driver, but you won't be able to because you live in the US and have silly patent laws.
They may try and sue your arse if you send them a linux driver and ask them distribute it because you've already infringed upon their patent.
Note, it looks like the patent is still pending as none of the patentslisted seem to be for a file system.
Keeping something radioactive in you pants would certainly help in reducing you sperm count and so does smoking, but I think there only slightly better than 'Well I was pissed, so she defiantly wont get pregnant'
You don't need to do that, all you need to do is reduce the population of the planet until renewable energy sources can provide enough energy for everyone.
Does that version controle highlight changes in the document and allow you to create a table of changes?
Does it work when you not connected to the network filing system?
Can it be exported with the document so people in other companies can view the changes?
Does it intergrate well with email systems etc....
You could use webdav or CVS for versioning and some scripts to update the revision history in the document, they come a lot closer to allowing external edits, but they still don't cut it, especially when you want to look at changes in the document.
You could always write a plugin for reisterfs or use one of the FUSE versioning file systems, but then your stuck using linux or freebsd.
I personally think that there should be an alternative to abortion - Sterilization from birth.
There's no need to reroute yourself all over the world any more when you could just be using one of the many open wireless networks to hide.
And on /. too so he must be a virgin, quick phone the pope and tell him God has created the virgin Mary in the image of a man.

And that's why they still have that box in a corner that takes a day to do a job that could be done in real time.
If people knew how to program properly I wouldn't need a gig of ram in my PC and vista wouldn't need a cray to run properly.
OpenOffice.
Just record the macro, no programming required.
Why don't you teach people in OpenOffice?
A virus is a form of life, when it invades out cells it creates new life, should we ban anti virals? Are you a christian scientist?

I suggest talking to dog breeders.

If your going to go down that road do some reading up on Abstraction filtration comparison first, then throw a little reverse engineering into the search to get some more specific info.
