    , but now it looks like libxml (or xmlstarlet) has started playing by not closing the content-type meta tag

    Except:
    1: it gets very hot and wet in asia, you don't want an insect infestation because someone stuck chewing cum under the desk.

    2: You can get it on prescription if you have a medical requirement.

    So, it's not really band, and the whole tidy thing is to stop insects. I think you get a fine in some resturants if you ask for more food than you can eat.

    Do exactly what Windows does when it normall goes to sleep, page out all the memory into a file[memory, hdd, internet,printed in brail] and then page it back in again, reset a few odds and sods onthe CPU and your away.

    I would expect that the Linux software suspend extensions can be hacked to cope with a copy of Windows just as well as they do with a copy of Linux.

    Well now that they've released this new fangled Knopix windows hybred all OS's can support native IE.

    there a preloader for firefox.

    and there are light weight versions of firefox about that can run on portable devices.

    There's also an IE themed firefox

    I'll think about building the site in html just for those people still using IE6.

    If I had the source code to IE6 I would consider fixing the problem.

    Ummm.. it's standards complient XHTML and CSS 2, it should render ok if Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, Konqueror, whatever ships with the mac.

    IE is probably picking the brail and screenreader or largefont CSS, which funnnly enough has large text, a small menu at the top and the main menu at the bottom.

    If there's a setting in IE that lets you select the style sheet to apply main.css

    Apart from that I may add IE7 to the site in an attempt to fix IE.

    Why are you using IE if you have firefox?

    If your clever you should be able to page out windows, and boot the linux kernel warm.

    I think that's more or less what VMWare does.

    it does when some of the software that runs on the servers uses ActiveX and requires IE.

    information is only a google away.

    According to CNET Linux had 27% of all server shipments in 2000 up from 25% the previous year.

    IT facts says 'Linux server revenues grew 54.6% in Q2 2004 and unit shipments jumped more than 61% while Windows server revenue grew 13.2% and unit shipments up 25.3%.

    just do a link rel media=print and use css to set all the page noise invisible.
    I use it on my site to remove the menus and some formatting and stuff, and prints are nice.

    I also use CSS to display extra menus and reorder the page so that clutter comes at the bottom for screen readers so I can get AAA without inflicting large text on everyone.

    Umm.... Java, or if you don't like Java try any Borland Tool, kylix is free for personal use, so is jbuilder. Other tools such as CBuilder and Delphi (object pascal) are free do download as a trial.

    There's nothing to stop people developing new components for VB6 and most of the new windows COM objects should be accessible (but not all)!

    POP3 is poor compaired to IMAP, I keep getting dupes down because GMail doesn't support unique message numbers.

    all the flags are unique, say colour, secondry colour, tweening, vertex buffers type 1, vertex buffers type 2, pixel shaders , pixel shaders, normals, binormals, tangents, skinning, textures, non-power of two textures, etc...

    What?

    there are 64000 for any 16 bit number.

    for(a=0;a10){
    if(a & 1){
    total +=dob;
    }

    if(a & 1 1){
    total +=doc;
    }

    if(a & 1 4){
    total +=doe;
    }

    }

    etc... produces 2^n possible outcomes, but you so only need 16 if's to make 64000 options.

    There's a bit more to it than that, but lets say I run that loop or 10000 items 10 times a second times a second, but it's alyaws going to take the same patch a a = 5, by compiling just the a = 5 version on request I can save a lot of derefernces, that my cause page faults, all my if's and make sure everything is nicely aligned etc....
