To my knowledge, Dixons has alerted Nintendo that they may stop selling it and will see how the discounts are received by the public. If the sells pick up, they may keep selling it.
There isn't a slowdown on major AAA titles for Nintendo's gamecube. We got Eternal Darkness, Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime in the past year and Zelda: The Wind Waker coming on Monday in the US. Nintendo strings out the AAA titles so as to not get consumers overwhelmed.
I also would not call Vice City a AAA title. AAA stands for superb quality and outstanding gameplay. I would call it an A title because it has sold very well thus far.
Sony shouldn't wait too long to release the PS3 because if they wait, Nintendo and Microsoft will release their next gen systems without Sony to steal some of the thunder away from Sony. This was the case with the PS1 stealing Nintendo and Sega's thunder.
I have never experienced a system crash. I swap my games all the time and have never seen it crash. I try to make game systems crash and haven't been able to crash it yet. Heating doesn't seem to be an issue either as the heat gets dissipated rapidly.
Remember too that the GC is getting exclusivity for the Resident Evil titles that spank every title that I have seen for any console in terms of graphical goodness. That should be reason enough to buy a GC.
The article really made me glad that I read Slashdot everyday. After hearing about this, I am terminating the use of JUNO immediately. After today I will also be ending the use of free services because they suck. Cable or DSL is the only way to go nowadays.
