  1. Anyone else notice earth that was? on Serenity Trailer Finally Released · · Score: 1

I've been looking through the trailer frame by fram e (Yes, I'm a browncoat. I can't wait until the movie comes out), and noticed that earth that was is a big part of it. There are at least 2 scenes where they're flying over it.

  2. spybot/adaware combo still works better for me... on MS AntiSpyware vs Ad-Aware vs. SpyBot · · Score: 2, Interesting

I'm cleaning up a clients laptop, and decided to use the new microsoft spyware beta. I ran it first:

    5 infected files
    1 threat (real vnc)

Then I ran spybot after running the microsoft program:

    12 files found
    including valueclick
    advertising.com
    avenue a, inc
    double click
    DSO exploit
    fastclick
    mediaplex

    and finally I ran adaware:

    25 critical objects found

All of these programs had the signatures updated. Spybot and adaware collectively caught 37 more files than the microsoft beta did...

But it is still in beta I guess.

Listen, I'm sorry you have to resort to insults to try and prove your point. All I was saying from the original is that I've had no problems using iTunes... and "all in one crap" program. No pops. No skips.

If that software saves you time and works for you, great. I wasn't downing the software you are using, I was merely saying that for the majority of people an all in one is OK.

Details like a horrible loud pops or gross distortion that results from errors during the reading process? That's what we're talking about here. Any ripper is fine as long as there aren't read errors. But what happens when there are?

    you rip it again.

I'll put money on the fact that you lack the technical expertise to participate in this discussion. Try doing some reading before posting next time.

    Yeah, keep thinking that.

I find your lack of faith disturbing....

I am a DJ (club, not radio) and while I prefer the sound of quality vinyl, I am also a technically oriented computer user/administrator. I have tried many of the ripping software out there. And yes, iTunes (which is my player/ripper of choice now) does not give you the amount of freedom when ripping cds to mp3 or aac, it does allow you to adjust the quality and such. And honestly I can't hear a difference between it and the high quality ripper out there. I'm not an Apple person, but I (being in the music industry) think it is the best out there for all us people who "don't care about quality" and want to be locked into an "all in one" program... and enjoy our music rather than worry about details.

I'll put money on the fact that you wouldn't notice the difference either, that you just like impressing people with how many programs you use.

    Just a thought.

Zonealarm for the novice can be confusing, but if a person has a broadband connection and no NAT or hardware firewall, then they should run Zonealarm, especially since it's free for the personal user.

    My personal opinion.

Wasn't there already a file swapping service....or something similar to that during the napster heydays? I seem to remember it was shut down very quickly. It basically bought legal copies of CD's and then when you PROVED that you owned the CD, then you could download it from any location. Without even charging anything. Someone selling a service like that would DEFINETLY be quickley terminated.

I have a day job as a network administrator, then on Thurs, Fri, and Sat I work as a DJ at a prominent nightclub in Houston. I also have a girl friend (but the advantage in that is she comes up to the club to see me, so i guess it's a bit less stressfull) and on Mon. and Wed. I go to school. I also like to go out sometimes too so I have no time for myself.

The point I think i was trying to make with that is that if you enjoy what you're doing, then it's not work, it's life. Work to live, don't live to work.

So why is it the government deems it necasary to regulate every aspect of our lives? If i want to ride a roller coaster until I pass out... that should be my choice to do so. We are in war-time right now. Surely there's better issues that the government needs to deal with. How bout... say getting some supreme court justices confirmed? Stay out of stupid "issues" that this and get to more pressing matters.
