Whoa...River City Ransom....I haven't heard of that game for about 7 years, since I used to play it non-stop...certainly a classic... I have the Tengen Tetris game as well, my dad was something of a Tetris freak and has basically every version ever made (including the knock-offs like Dr. Mario and stuff)...
No real content here, just wanted to say thanks for reminding me of RCR:)
"The only defense against the vulnerability is installing the Microsoft patch, which will be available shortly on the Microsoft.com security Web site."
I love it...they just automatically assume everyone in the world must use Outlook...
In case anyone's curious, I strongly recommend Kaufman Mail Warrior (http://pages.infinit.net/kaufman/Index.htm)
Handles multiple accounts with ease, nice interface, no viruses to worry about, and tiny (relatively)...one 700k executable or something...
Ahhh, finally...I'm glad someone brought up Cute...if I remember right, in addition to being nicer and more powerful than Napster, there was only one server to log into (no more jumping from server to server) and it was actually in development *before* Napster...
CuteMX was still in beta testing last I knew, but when it's done it might be the first "Cute" product I'd use:>
Plus, the people actually chat on CuteMX...not that I need a whole lot of babble along with mp3s, but it's nice to see something other than requests in a chat room!
That would be the "Yale wall" idea (read about it a little more here (thanks KMSelf)), and yeah, people have thought about it before, but that doesn't make it a bad thing:> I've also lurked around here for a year or so now, without posting too much, but it seems to me that this idea is a very good one. Of course, moderators would still have to go through all the posts, in order to "approve" AC posts, but, technically, moderators should be browsing at -1 anyway, so that's not really relevant.
True...but if he gets stiffed on the personal check (which is likely, since a lot of the bidders appear to be shills) then he'd have to deal with EBay's mumbo-jumbo to get his fees back or to post it again.... Of course...if it were posted for another 10 days, that's even *more* publicity...hmmmm...
Yes, this is a Word Macro virus...it's of the Class strain (I believe it's class.b)...there's various ways to get rid of it; I've heard MacAfee or F-Prot does it.
(And the only reason I know is because my school got hit with it today too:>)
By the way, most of the actual code for it is stored in c:\class.sys if you want to take a look at it.
I got this book free online a couple weeks ago, although I haven't had time to read it yet...link is here: http://www.worldcom.com/us/info/t1/
Enjoy!

"maybe some script kiddie will hack my signature..."
:>
This would give new meaning to the term "script" kiddie, now wouldn't it? Great, another thing for the media to screw up
