I've also saw it at the avant-première in Paris last tuesday and two words: too long !
And can anyone tell me why they didn't choose to put a resumé of the first movie, I mean I've seen the first one but the movie opens directly with the last shot of the first movie (hobits walking in the snow..) and it's was diffiult to "get in" (don't know the english expression) the movie without a quick intro on what was going on just before.
Otherwise the party was really great... just in front of the eiffel tower, nice dj's, nice girls (liv I love you) and free champagne and fois gras till 6 in the morning !
We had nearly all the problems you are describing therefore we decide to write a built-in viewer/exporter for 3DSMax (3.1). It was quite a difficult task (doc suck IMHO) and requires nearly one man year of work, but I think the result worth it.
It uses our game engine (InVivo) to display in RealTime a view of your model. This view display the materials as defined in our Shader Editor, therefore we specify all our shaders (shading, z-buffer writing, Back Buffer blending, alpha test, stencil buffer, ambient, diffuse, specular, emissive) in Max and Artists can view the result as if the model was in our game engine in RealTime. Then we just had to plug our exporter and you can export our scene. We've also add animation and a particule plug-in we developed to Max and now Artist don't have to exit max to do all game assets.
I had the luck to test digital screening in a private screenroom of Columbia Pictures (Sony) in march 1999 and I must say I was impressed. There were no artefact and the picture was pretty sharp. They demoed an old movie they had restored as a proof of concept and that's was very great. however (maybe changed now but as I don't follow this..) they said to me It was difficult to have a great quality on very big screen. The one I saw had a diagonal of 10 meters.
a shared military, a shared government ???
You really seems as ignorant as G. Bush !! Military relation between France and Germany are like those between France and USA in the OTAN... And shared government: wtf ! Don't you learn in school what is a governement, but perhaps you think we (the world) are all under the governship of the ONU...
This game seems great but I see no new things there. For example Mankind is there since nearly 2 years. It's a true persistant, massively on-line game, maybe it's not as known because it's developped by frenchies but I think you should really have a look at it. They are 70 000 players playing the game and a lot of guilds, they have been not buzz around it in the states but it's played by french, german, english, and asian people.

How does this will perform on Debian system ? I used to use apt but I like helix-code. Will Red Carpet use apt as a backend ? Should I make a choice ?
