i had the sysadmin create a special qmail account for me this lets me configure all the users for the domian w/o restarting anything and w/o becoming root
it's really nice to be able to just create a new account on the fly. it's also nice to have a default forward
now whenever i signup for a site i go w/
sitename@mydomain.com
that way i keep kinda track of who is selling mailing lists and if i'm tired of getting it i just set that user so it bounces.
again, this is for a small domain (5 users)

i like rob's idea.
much nicer than dealing w/ a lcd display, plus all you need to have exposed now is the ir receiver! (nicer 'cause you don't need to make it look nice anymore)
the way i see it making an mp3 player just got much easier, no need for a nice box (since you can hide a deskop/minitower case behind your stereo rack)

(who is now trying to find out how to get an ir port to read in some random old remote he has laying around)
well... at least i remember them rocking...
i had a pair of quad's from the late 60's i found in my uncle's attic. used them for a while but they were to big for me to take w/ me when i moved.
big ass things, and sort of curved, about 4 inches thick.

all these new sites are cool and all, but the only things i check are /. freshmeat and lwn.
