I doubt it. There isn't that much interesting stuff to receive, that isn't covered by hardwired Rx's. TV, radio, wifi. How many people want to listen to ham radio transmissions, or radar? I've built receivers for 42 years for everything from 60 KHz to X band, for (mostly radar) projects that needed to use those frequencies. For the home hobbyist, it would be interesting for about 3 seconds. Arduinos can do tons of useful stuff.
I immediately thought the same (well, 200 msec later, so yours counts as first). A good AI system should be able to converse fairly well with these idiots, clogging their emails and burying real responses in billions of false ones.
Get some big office to donate their 3 year "old" desktops, guarantee them that you will wipe all data off them, and they will fly with Edubuntu on 'em.
I'm just a noob, but I've been trying Bodhi and holy smoke it's fast. And why not have different wallpaper on different workspaces?? But coming from XP, Mint Cinnamon just lets me get back to work without learning newfangled stuff.
Not true. The space around a spacecraft is usually contaminated with clouds of outgasses and crud. So tubes that go in them are pumped down on earth better than you can reliably get up there.
Why don't they make a Linux version?
Quick! Somebody invent a time machine and send Al Gore back there!

OTOH I might find a use for them at work.
Same reason they grope grandmas at the airport. Security theater, legislated by politicians.
No you don't. You just want somebody else's politics removed from science.
Actually, these ideas stem from the second great Awakening around 1800, not from true Christian beliefs. And not fiscal conservative beliefs.
Duh, nobody would. And how much money would they make?
So why not use a real standard, the Open Document??
Except the windoze license is specifically JUST for that laptop.
Put it in the damp earth, and it will stay there for hundreds of years, increasing fertility. Look up "biochar".
I do all that, with a PC, but it doesn't run Windows. Any more.
Aw shucks, they forgot to get a monopoly on mobile devices.
No they are trying to give themselves an air of respectability.
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves" (Matt. 7:15).

..and Obama reduced spending the most of the last 60 years, says the WSJ. *

When they have their fire sale and they're $20, I might find a use for a couple if I can run Puppy on it.
Use SIP instead, duh.
I sure hope not; hope he stays right until the bankruptcy.
In ten years? Maybe not. Hope not.
No. Laptops get lost and/or dropped.

sibilance = brotherhood + sisterhood, right?
....you pronounce that "win hate".
This is Slashdot, where every thread sooner or later turns to atheism, politics, or sex.
