    A tiny computer with the ability to also twiddle some pins to control external devices would be a great alternitave to the often closed or restricted expensive ARM micro-controller evaluation boards.

    um yea I did, so they are modulating the lasers so it wont burn your retina, great, but you can still be blinded temporarly when its pitch dark out and some cockgobbler in their bmw SUV is behind you with 120,000 candlepower beaming in your rear view mirror.

    you would know this if you ever left the basement.

    I would not want a teacher anywhere near my kids who's effort includes looking a a few solar projects out of a book and running to slashdot.

    Your experience sounds fine, sounds like you had a teacher who cared, this one however has the imagination of a brick, the professionalism of a bum, and sofar has spent a whole 2 paragraphs of effort to figure out what they are going to do.
