Also the board removed Steve from his duties shortly thereafter for no other reason than "that communicator thing is really creeping me out"

    Well kidding aside its a very logical step. Expert systems have been around since the 80's, though those usually required a data line and subscription along with careful and tedious professional coding, that spawned a career path for many.

    Watson as its called is an experiment to refine the system that has not changed *much* since hypercard and HTML, using the next generation of balls out IBM power in "AI" experts systems... it could make a dent in the way mass data is managed.

Im in the US and have US speeds, download? your going to have to download lion... are you done with your pissing contest? great I am happy you twiddled a altair, I have an apple 2 sitting on my desk right now, they are fun machines, but has nothing to do with dinosaurs, the point is it doesn't take HOURS, it takes a fuck old g4 less than ONE hour, so pull your thumb out of your ass and get with it if your going to take that attitude.

    heh if you had some extra money you might have a internet connection that could download a cd in less than "hours", I just installed debian ppc on my G4, took 15 min to download and 30 min to install, which is also counting fiddle with gnome where I like it time

    like you said to each their own, I don't like being nickeled and dimed every year cause they moved some stuff around in the UI and added some stuff I probably wont use (posted from my pc with windows XP from a disc I bought in 2002 for 99$ on sale)

    douchy mc nitpick here but that has only been true for a bit over a decade, historically Apple has done it first, then about 4 other times with compatibility issues, then they hit a dull spot for a while, then splash out the new shiny shit! That generally works for them outside of the flopper newton which helped give us the sad mac 90's (along with many other factors)
