The visionary who brought us Bioshock and System Shock 2 among others. The very fact he isn't mentioned seriously undermines the legitimacy of this list in my view.
Bioshock was and continues to be huge for gamers and its effects on the industry are still being felt and will be from years to come.
Call me short-sighted, but I was rather enjoying Eolas going after only Microsoft with patent infringement.
Anything that makes IE harder to use, would make alternative browsers all the more attractive to the inherently stupid lazy average PC user.
Sorry, to be so harsh on them, but it's true. If people sought out the best tool for the job, Microsoft would be out of business.
I'm still rooting for Eolas, and that wont change until they start enforcing their patent on everybody. But for the time being, I am still calling it divine justice.
You folks seem to forget the mother of all intended security exploits: FireWire Target Disk Mode. Officially sanctioned by Apple for the lazy 'l33t h@x0rz' among us.
To have full unfettered access, as it completely ignores the UNIX permisions, to any and all data on a Mac User's computer simply hold down Apple+T on the victim's computer connect via 6pin-6pin firewire cord to your own computer.
Happy copying. Maybe with the additional data features of Panther this wont be an issue, but for now, happy downloading. ^^
Considering the fact that Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 1 topped GameCube sales charts when they released. But Resident Evil 2-Whatnot didn't might have to do with the fact that Capcom was cheap and lazy and simply ported the PSone games to the GameCube without updating the graphics or adding features, then stuck a $50 (Which has since been decreased to $30 at some stores) price tag.
I wonder why it didn't do well. There's no surprise there. It would have gone the same way on any other platform-the only people who will buy a port of a game with four year old graphics are the obsessive fans-not the mainstream.
And nobody even *think* of blaming the whole "kiddie image" of the GameCube on the lack of sales because most GameCube owners are in the 18-25 demographics, which also happens to be the most aggressively pursued market by all three companies.
Active Buddy is the company that makes SmarterChild it's not two separate companies.
It's a shame they chose to use the technology for such sleazy purposes. I have known about ActiveBuddy and SmarterChild for awhile, infact Active Buddy's creation aptly named "SmarterChild" is on my AIM buddylist. When I first got it I was so amazed. You can ask it a limited number of questions through a command line-ish thing. Like Movie times, stock quotes, astrology, top stories, web searches, etc. I thought it was a very good use of technology. Go ahead add SmarterChild to your IM to see for yourself.
It's too bad they chose such cool idea (a Bot for AIM) to trick children. But I guess everyone has to make money somehow.
It was debuted at MacWorld and was supposed to be released for Mac/PC simultaneously.
From what I have heard from Matt on the Bungie.org boards back when it was first shown is that they were using Macs and PC's for development. It was being developed simultaneously for Mac and PC and wasn't going to be a PC-to-Mac port, both Halo for Mac and PC would take advantage of what each platform offered.
So I guess you'd be incorrect in saying it was developed ENTIRELY on PC's, because Matt himself said that PC's and Macs were being actively developed on (at least in the beginning). Lets not forget it was first displayed running on a Mac.
The Music is also being composed on Macs, so again it's good to have a bit of info to back up your assertions.

This is disgusting! mduell you should be ashamed!

Another Look At OS X

I don't know who or what this article bases itself on outside of a very tanigible "anti-Mac" sentiment. All the people I have seen writing about the 4K78 build of OS X have said it's great compared to previous versions. Quartz writes faster, the entire OS is "snappier" and faster. The Classic underpinnings now work faster then they do on the current OS!!!
If you don't like Macs outright say it, it's stupid and misleading to write an article like this based on nothing! I find it disgusting that "mduel" even posted it!
Everyone seems to criticize Apple for not releasing products fast enough for it. No DVD support-Oh the OS must suck! Well Windows 95, had terrible support for plenty of DOS based software, it was glitchy, slow, it was awful. It didn't contain many features! Infact the initial version didn't include a way to connect to the internet! (Outside of AOL or another 3rd party Dialup Application).
I wish people would approach other platforms with understanding or at least not flaming someone for their choice. But I find it disgusting the number of people in the media who rip on Apple just using ignorance. I'll be the first to admit Apple has it's fair share of problems-But writing anti-Mac propaganda and disguising it as a "report" as in "The Truth About OS X" is a disservice to it's readers.
Use your Linux, Windows, Mac OS-whatever use it and like it...but don't publish outright lies pulling nothing from your ass. PC users and Mac users are some of the worst-they hate eachother...and while Mac users take it upon themselves to quote Apple excuses for things, they are defending their platform of choice! I see PC users jumping the fence and flaming Mac-sites like there is no tomorrow! It's disgusting an immature, and I find it even more disgusting that this "flame" is disguised as an article.
It holds no firm basis, I am running 4K78 right now-and I can tell you it's a pleasure to use, and better then any previous version of OS X...and many UI's from Linux! That is based on preference however, and I am watching the GUI Linux projects with interest, I wont kid myself if something better does come out.

Maybe now that he's been fired he can get them pissed off at him again and make Microsoft looking worse by revealing what we all have known all along:
Longhorn is nothing but a gussied up version of Windows 3.11.
Bringin' back the DOS, baby.
Awww, this ain't nothing!

Do you want a camera or something to play games on?
Sure, we all have a limited budget but these two products offer completely different uses. If you want something to play games on the SP is for you.
If you want a digital camera the PowerShot may be the camera for you.
I echo the sentiments of the other Slashdot users about this article.
