  1. Timezones have everything to do with it on More Candidate Answers - Bush and Hagelin · · Score: 1

    You analogy is correct except your forgetting one part. The N+1 vote could be cast when the central part of the US is votting. That would mean the election would be over before the people in California got a chacne to vote. I don't know about you but knowing that the election has already been decided would certainly discourage me from voting.

    I went to a highschool very similar to that for a year. The biggest thing those for those redneck was who was going to be homecoming king and queen. So they could look real pretty for hteir parents and give off the illusion that they conformed to all their parents wants and hopes.

    In my opinion this is a violation of his first Amendment right to freedom of speach. He didn't wanted the award and expressed it through his action of putting the crown on the ground. Just another example of some lowlife highschool teachers making them all look like idiots.

  3. Electoral College reform on More Candidate Answers - Bush and Hagelin · · Score: 1

    One thing that disturbs me in teh answers of all of the canidates is their lack of concern to one of the major issues with Electoral College reform. This issue consist of two factors. 1)Once the specified number of Electoral votes has been reached, a canidate wins 2)Since the voting starts at the same time in every state, people on the west coast end of voting hours after the people on the east coast This lead to the problem with the most recent presidential election. Clinton won the number of votes necessary to become president before the people on Pacific time even Started to vote. I believe that this is another key reason why people do not go out to vote anymore. The election is already decided before they even get a chance to contribute. That's the dumbest thing about our system of voting.

  4. Filters... on Candidates' Positions On Internet Filtering · · Score: 1

    Filters completely suck. They never filter the correct thing. There's no way that a filter can concieveable keep up with the rapid number of porn sites that appear. Then they block informative research oriented web sites because they contain the word breast. So any 13 year old who wants to do some real research on breast cancer is unfairly hindered. I don't really see a problem though with parents being able to see what web sites there kids have been to. After all, a parent is the best judge for what their kid can and can't see. As for preventive monitoring while they surf. What ever happened to a parent going and seeing what their kid was doing. It takes very little effort to walk into the computer room and see what webpage your children are viewing.

Who do you think post to this board? Several people have already posted that they were screwed by this deal. People who post crap yelling at the slashdot crew to not post stories should get a life or get off this page. You're as bad as the trolls.

    Lets patent everythign possible.

    I'm going to patent the fact that my car door opens with only one handle. There are millions of cars sold every year that are in direct violation of my patent.

    I'm also issueing a patent on the one power button on my computer. People have been pressing one button to turn on their computer for the last few years. Just one button. The only thing better would be for them to have to pay me to do it.

    Maybe there should be a patent on one click message boards. I type a message and one click. BAM!!! My post is being read and moderated.
    </sarcasm>

    I'm sick and tired of this attitude in America that we should patent turning on the computer with the left hand vs the right and sueing everyone over the littlest thing. I personally feel Amazon should have to pay Barne's and Noble for wasting there time with frivilous and otherwise annoying patents. Not to mention the loss of buisness B&N felt.
