Common thinking among them is that it's not their car that pollutes the air; it's the cheap cars they make today, like the one the neighbors bought and that never start during winter. It's big business that dumb shit all over the country. Like they would make a difference anyway. This why they keep those double-shotguns in their trunks, so that when they try to dumb stuff on their property, they will be meet with the necessary greetings.

I had to find some time to read the 110+ pages court decision. Just throwing the decision like that makes it seem like a mistake by the court, but under this specific case IMHO it's a good decision. We had a company that was advertising it's gun as quote p.30 "Resistant to fingerprints" and that this type of *paramilitary* was targeted to the high end market of the "toughest customers". The court also found that this kind of weaponry had no legitimate use in civilian type situation due to the "Lack of accuracy" and that it's was primarily designed for "Close combat situation requiring rapid exchange rate and fire power over multiple target". This gun is primarily used amongst hard time criminals and gangs.

Also, they were not condemned for the killing, but for negligence. (I.e. releasing a weapon designed for military use into a civilian market.

When I worked for the City, every employe had the same win95 desktop, same hardware, same software, everything was identique. Very important data was keeped on central boxes. (like user documents)

The reason we used "images" of disk to restore the boxes is for the simple fact that when ever they would really fuck up the system, it would take us about 20 minutes to fix it. You copy the image over and thats it, it's over over. So we really did not care what they did, we could fix it pretty quickly.

On the other hand, the boxes that had retail versions, you often had to format, re-install the os, re-configure, re-install the apps, and it would take 90-120 minutes to do so.

Microsoft knows this, and this is why they charge differently for both. They know that companies with a few thousand employees will have to pay more in staff if they do the routine above then if they buy a liscense for "every image".

So basically company pay twice because in the end it cost them less. And you can trust me, they come with their audit team pretty quickly is you complain too much about it. And you end up paying even more.
