Just fire up the "Filemon" utility and weep, there are hundreds of accesses per second in Windows, the system stresses the disk like crazy so after a few days many SSDs are pretty much fail prone, also Firefox in default setting is just hammering the disk too with its disk cache mechanisms, some firewall software are terrible in this regard also. These drives has some wear out protection in them, but jeez Windows are writing all the time to the registry and other parts of the disk. Most of my friends who switched to SSDs are experiencing these kinds of problems.
I bet he is also patenting this new technology of his....., so ok, he might be right, but unfortunately for him the renewables are actually viable once the long term storage problem is resolved (so you can store the peak output for later, today this power is wasted), technology like the new flywheel energy storage using magnetic bearings are making this possible, bringing solar and wind back to the game.
XBLA games are profitable? When you see most sold about 5000 copies and they retain about $2 from a copy... then where is the profit? iPhone and PCs are totally hopeless as you get released into the pool with tens of thousands competing apps/games and most users only see the top 100. Unless you are well established, multiple award winner or have some marketing strategy you will hardly see any sales.
I can see no possible way how this could be misused on a scale that could even overshadow BitTorrent once people start sharing their content in those cloud storages.
This idea is crazy, inneficient, damaging, probably requires massive CT scanning and other lesser evils.., but the main problem remains, one cancer cell left behind can respawn the problem. From my POV the only real cure for cancer is giving the immune system markers of cancer cells so the immune system can destroy cancer itself. This can be done, cancer cells are different even if they look "healthy" to the body, we just need to find the way to signal their presence to the immune system and that is all folks.
"Think Different" mantra might apply here, even if the technology is technically inferior, what matters is that it is special, Apple-born and exlcusive therefore carrying high profit margin. That would be hard to justify with the stock USB3 tech.
Well then, I am awed by the Microsoft castle, it is very complete, with a Linux moat, a patent troll bridge, developer torture chambers, crooked exec tower and unfathomable scale of bug and security holes filled dungeons.
Those exec fools at RIM (BlackBerry) and Windows (WP7) think that if they gave us some crazy "modern" non-native development environment then somehow developers will cheer.
They should gave us straight C to low latency audio, straight C to OpenGL and straight C to input, that is it. With all this we can optionally compile JavaScript, Python, browser you name it... but without native access no serious dev. will even try to download their "innovative" SDK.
And please stop selling us Java, we know enough already. iOS is such a success due to slick apps that are native, can't you see the difference between non-native vs. native example Android vs. iOS ?
If a company ebuses its market dominance to gain grounds in other markets then we have a really bad monopoly situation, but if Microsoft is any example then the competition will be long gone and forgotten before anything serious happens to the company.
1 gram of Moonstone is worth $1000 ?! So... 1 kg is therefore worth $1M ??!!! How expensive is a space rocket and other things needed for aggresive Moon mining ? /s
They probably use oxygen injection from the concentrator to boost the burn efficiency. I've read somewhere that the french inventor of the "air powered car" was a former Formula 1 mechanic that realized that more oxygen is a very good thing for the engine.
This would be devastating for normal cloud hosting, because customers have data spread over lots of hardware, that means, if thay grab an entire rack, they break business for pretty much everybody. The 'remote storage' might be applicable for Amazon but hardly any other local hoster. Another confirmation that dedicated (not shared) PC with your own IP and your very own solo server is your best bet. At least you can be sure that you are not collocated with some blackhats.
There is a reason why IE was so "underdeveloped" for all those years and that Apple recently discontinued development of their web editor and that Safari development is also pretty stagnant. The "web applications" are not the answer, native networks connected apps are.
EFF has not problem with Bitcoin itself, but it is more concerned about the recent misuse of it, all kind of blackhats are taking advantage of it. Bitcoin is all about freedom, unfortunately this level of utter freedom (no regulation what so ever) also draws criminals that otherwise would have a hard time using PayPal or other monitored and sanctioned means of payment. EFF just wants to distance themselves from money laundering and other illegal activities associated with Bitcoin recently.

Apple's browser is built on OpenGL and GPU accelerated, nice to see Mozilla finally recognizing this vastly superior technology.
EU doens't recognize software patents, US patent trolls can try to sue me.

Here in EU I can't see Indie games section on my new Xbox when logged with my new Live profile, is this a trend?

Thanks for the "two" article grammar helper, I have no english lang. education, still figuring things up.
>> ..hard drive partition table lose a leg? How do you get 10.7 on your Mac? Apple won't say just yet.

Easy, you have to buy a new Apple hardware, obviously.
Indeed, quality determines whether a product will be successful (Firefox), advertising determine who successful will be (Chrome).

Stock price is totally connected to perceived value, which of course is a mixed bag of things..

Unless some unforeseen energy breakthrough like this (link) hampers their plans.

Truly exciting things happen in native environments.
