Therein lies the problem with Cringely's proposal. If I split the cost of a $20 CD with a friend (or a million friends), we can both listen to it, just not at the same time (legally).
Don't get me wrong, I love my Macs to pieces... but to be a little more specific:
Most Macs have their gamma setting at 1.8, while Windows machines are usually 2.5. Once you calibrate your devices (printers, scanners, whatever) to match that, it doesn't matter whether you're using a Mac or a PC, either will let you produce output which looks like what you see on your monitor.
You mean aside from clubs, bars, takoyaki stands and all-you-can-drink-karaoke? I'll admit i played a bit of the taiko game when i was studying in japan, and it's not too bad, but let's not forget pursuits which involve getting laid.
