Bluetooth, and any other sort of high speed wireless connectivity is surely going to bring forth a whole new area for virii. If you exploited enough features, you could easily trick 90% of the population into accepting a virus, which would then attack anything else they've networked with it. I'm not sure how the virus would work, but i do know how fast it would spread. I know people who KNEW the i-love-you email was a virus, but they were so confident windows would kill the virus, they opened it anyways. so, my solution is; Bluetooth should only be given to people who have a high IQ.
i don't really see any relevance to the article, i mean, it isn't feasible to use a laptop that generates that much heat, and on top of that, why would you want to compress its dimensions until it is a black hole?? i doubt we will ever need (and i may be sorry for writing this later on) a laptop with that much power. it seems that the writer had a lot of free time on their hands, and just played around with some numbers.
it's built with an MS OS, so it's bound to crash. i can just imagine coming home, and deciding if i want to watch half of Gilligans Island, or 10 seconds of MST3K.
I seriously wish they would say 3 browsers and a shell. NeoPlanet is NOT a browser. NOT a browser. It just adds more bloat onto an already bloated browser.
But you also have to get a license to drive, and that isn't entirely different. at first it may be hard to acquire, but within a few years (if it gains popularity) the requirements will have been so dumbed down, you'll have people flying and talking on 2 cell phones while using their PDA and eating some pizza.
But the important thing is will it run wine? i don't know about you, but i don't think i would be able to live without having MS-Bob around with me everywhere i go.
Couldn't someone send out a whole bunch of spam, posing as a company that they want to 'punish' for some reason? Because of the way this law is set up, if the company couldn't prove it wasn't them, wouldn't they have to pay the fine?
I don't think that this would be as hard as everyone is making it out to be, I realize that this will take many years to accomplish, but if they include what we know from freedows and wine, i'm sure it would be a lot easier.
Even though there are a lot of people saying that Gnutella is not vulnerable to being shut down, like Napster is, they (the RIAA) could still use a program to find out everyones IP address. If they did so, they would probably post a warning saying to not use it anymore, and just sue the people who still use it.
actually from what i've heard, and correct me if i'm wrong, but there are 2 encryption keys for every algorythm, and the government gets a copy of one of them. that would mean that increased encryption on the net would do nothing to stop echleon.
I remember just a few years ago, when I saw what was state of the art in robots then, and this is a big improvement, I mean, it's not Rosie (The Jetsons) but it's a fantastic start.
It will require a lot of marketing to build up Cyrixs' reputation though, and i would doubt that most consumers would even consider it as a serious brand.

Black hole computers? This must be old news, they already have them at the White House.

oops, 10 years (which takes about 10 minutes), but still, 175mb??
175mb for 10 minutes gameplay???? and Microsoft DOESN'T make this???
oops, 2 browsers and a shell. (hit preview dammit!! hit preview!!)

this has probably been posted before, but why the hell would anyone SMART enough to use Linux, do something as DUMB as use AOL????
LMAO!!! i lived in thunder bay for just over 3 years. you are soo right!! it is a fun university tho.

Now we should all quit using email, and encode our messages this way. Carnivore won't stand a chance.

I kinda wish it'd hit land, cause a it'd make an awsome souvenir.
-ms will continue dumbing down the net, and computers in general
-ppl will keep on worrying about the internet stock bubble
-mettalica will sue everyone who has ever, or will ever connect to the internet
