Wireless networking on a plane makes sense for the same reason it does in your house: Easy to implement without tearing up existing infastructure.
No seats to replace. To extra wires to worry about/certify/trace and test when a passenger complains. Just add a $300 Apple 'Airport', and let the user be savvy enough to have the proper card.
The artical mentioned linking to a 'secret page' , basically just an unobvious link on the regular page. This is fine, but if you don't want your page indexed and cached by Google, you better have a robots.txt page or meta tag the stops the agents from indexing the page. To the casual viewer, the link is hard to find, to the robot, its just another page in the tree.
Is Pat Buchanon a Republican mole? The man jumps ship from the Republician party to the Reform party, which in past elections had mounted a serious bid despite (maybe because) of Perot. This year Pat gets controls of the party, promptly sends it into a tailspin. Result: no reform votes to bleed Bush.
Forget Green, the real third party story is the intentional destruction of the reform party.
I've been reading slashdot for a while. Occasionally, I click on the links provided by the more thoughtful posters in their.sigs. A few weeks ago I clicked on www.votenader.org , and started to read up on Nader. I don't agree with him 100%, but would have preferred to see his opinions enter the mix a little more. Since that first click, I've donated money to his campaign, and bought and staked one of his 'Vote Nader' signs in my front yard.
I guess my point is that a little thing like a sig file can help change the process. Nader won't win in November, but maybe he'll get enough votes so that the next presidential cycle will provide a better forum (and matching funds) to third party candidates.
thanks for your time, reentering 'lurk' mode.

Could this work? Maybe, but you'll have trouble explaining all the poor pacemaker-equipped door-to-door salesmen dropping dead on your front stoop.
