Worse would be the cell phone company's charges. The minutes would certianly be billed under a time 'roaming' plan. But worse, they would be instantly overdue, and with interest and late fees accumulating, a 300 year trip to the past with a quick call to brag about your journey would bankrupt the poor traveler.

No, I got my iPod for running. The first few weeks ran with it held in my hand, and have yet to have a problem. Prior to this, I ran with a portable CD player that advertised skip protection. The CD player I could make skip, something I haven't yet been able to do with the iPod.

Last week, I broke down and bought one of them fancy fanny packs designed for the pod. Running with that is a dream, you could forget the ipod is there if not for the headphones (and this is where you really appreciate the wired remote.)

Could be my incredibly smooth running style, but I doubt it. The iPod is great for runners.

Really? Then do it. Go to ebay.com, search for your model 'on completed auctions" (or whatever). This should give you an idea of what like machines are selling for. Take a $100 off that price (but hope you get lucky) and *now* decide: if I could sell for this price, would I?

Extra credit: Look up the 'completed auction' price of recent 6100 and 8100s. Wait for this offer to be extended to the US, watch for jump in price.

I think one of the main reasons the vegas lines were touted so heavily was that they provide some assurance that the games aren't 'fixed'. Vince asked the odds-makers to publish the lines (an interview on NPR mentioned that the amount you could bet was being limited until the league establishes itself) to provide the aura of legitimacy to the operation.

You can't bet on Professional wrestling. Not through a recognized odds-maker at least.
