  1. GOOD on The Death Of Intellectual Property · · Score: 1

Why is that a bad thing? You mean music groups and recording companies will have to give up being super-mega-gizillionairs and have to get by on normal incomes? I don't think that's a bad thing. Riches have broken more bands than it has made. This would also put everone on even ground, and more people will have a chance to get into the mainstream music scene.. Places like mp3.com where there is already lots of non copyright music will become more popular. A lot of that music is pretty good. Of course, this is all hypothetical.... We all know there will always be millions of people who buys CDs and movies, this is just the kind of reaction people give to a 4% decrease in CD sales...

  2. CNET stock needed this.. on CNET Patents Banner Advertising Networks · · Score: 1

Perfect time to buy CNET stock.. right now their trading at 33, 46 points below their 52 week high. This patent is the kind of thing that gets a modest amount of publicity, which should be enough to give it a good push.

  3. Another interesting source on The Future of Computers · · Score: 1

Although mostly a fictional novel, 'Timeline' by Michael Crichton. There's a lot of intregueing stuff and insight about quantum computing and quantum physics, definatly worth reading.

  4. Thank you! on RIAA Sued By MP3Board.com Over Right To Link · · Score: 1

It would be nice to have moderator status right now. I'm glad someone sees this the same way i do. Everyone is carrying on about these lawsuits being trivial and stupid. They are trivial, but they are by no means stupid. RIAA's lawsuit may have been stupid, and all the attention against napster certainly didn't have the intended effect. Lawsuits are the trendy thing now. Everyone is looking at them. The way i see this, mp3board is just cashing in on this.

  5. Re:Ever hear of "Trademark Dilution"? on Barbie Demands A Domain · · Score: 1

Ya know, i know your joking, but still, there's lot's of people who fundamentally think that way. Would it really be so bad if we had more ""inferior mexican dolls"" in our world? Big corporation products are taking care of everything. More power to you in your lawsuit, I hope for our sake that mattel looses this one.

Obviously, what i said only applies to the used software, which applies to many, if not most of the auctions.

  7. I hate micro$oft too, but..... on EBay Pulls MS Auctions, Neutralizes Complaints · · Score: 1

There's no question that this is another blatant example of microsoft's bullying techniques used to repress ANYTHING that threatens it's profits. However, as far as the legitimacy of what they are doing is concerned, they *might* be allright here. Ever read a software license agreement? Just about every one will grant the user rights to use a copy of the software, but not actually rights of ownership of the actually software copy. So even if you bought the software, you do not actually own it in the sense that you can sell it, etc. go figure. However, my point is, since this is clear legal issue, what microsoft and ebay are doing is merely the same super-aggressive proffiteering you get from them anyway, not something corrupt.
