Read the sci.crypt threads on using a blum-blum-schub random generator for creating a one-time pad on dejanews... This is just more of the same. Sure, he might have found a better PRNG for doing it, but it's still just as breakable as anything, and certainly nothing new.
Huh? Slightly? The BSOD is done in VGA text mode, which has only 16 colours, and no changeable palette. So unless they've made the BSOD graphical in win2000.....
Ah, nearly right. Godwin's law only applies when someone/thing is compared to the nazis/hitler. I'm comparing (Resistance against Nazism stands to Nazism) to (Resistance to giving in to the microsoft monopoly stands to the microsoft monopoly).
What's the big deal, this is nothing compared to the money spent on other thing. Assuming everybody gets as much spam as me (and the probably don't, I have the unfortunate habbit of hanging on to even my oldest email addies..) the cputime+bandwidth spent on spam divided by the cpu+time+bandwidth spent on other things is miniscule. using the same reasoning 'traceroute' defaulting to 3 udp packets per hop is causing massive losses. (alias traceroute='traceroute -q 1' btw:-) )
> Personally, I don't think I would would be willing to exchange getting criminal record for a little bit of free music....
Fair enough. But the question is: Are you willing to get a criminal record for opposing an unjust law, and by opposing it ending it (think long-term)?
So it's ok if they make something illegal as long as it's something _YOU_ don't want? (May I remind you that innocent until proven guilty is not an excuse to make everything suspicious illegal...)
Heck, just shell out the few extra bucks and get a natural kb. I've got the Trust natural Kb (not sure if they still make it), and it's the best kb I've ever had. Absolutely love it.
I'd hardly call 'you could do something stupid' a reason not to fill up those envelopes. And even if they don't have to pay more for a 500g reply, if enough people do it your countries postal service will up the price for those guys... I'm all for...
This is basicly just an implementation of filesystem forks. There's been a lot of discussion about this on the linux-kernel mailinglist. Basicly, maybe someday, but don't expect it soon in linux...

That is not an absolute. In your system of morals and ethics may be, but that doesn't make it a universal truth.

That's just plain rude, you could at least have let me down nicely...
Get the document in html.
Dang, thought I got around it. I stand corrected. I'll have to find something else people find offensive now :-)

That wasn't a chicken wing, that was a fish finger. If you have any idea how toxic most fish is nowadays you'll understand that was a lethal weapon...
HEY! What's wrong with leaches? They are a useful part of the ecosystem. (unless you don't like the ecosystem, in which case I can't help you...)

direct link to the mpeg download: here. Slow as hell, but at least it's wgettable...

This isn't about punishment, or revenge. This is about making a business model we disaprove of non-beneficial to those who would attempt using it.
Ever heard of 'the appropriate channels'? Try usenet, or doing a web search for one of the many documents describing how to do this.
filesystem forks? I'm rambling, I mean resource forks of course...
Actually, for real gzipping (and not via the 'c' file attribute) you'd need a little more than resource forks. But it would help..
Deja vu! :-)

I assume this is fixed by now btw, this has been confirmed to happen with 3.5.28 anyway...
If you're unlucky, anybody who can create a file on your reiser FS can get a bufferoverflow into kernelspace. (Ie: Free root for all). Not nice. YMMV.
Owch. I'm too tired. Then you'd have to write without seeing... Argh.
The underside? Then you'd have to right without seeing what you've written. seems like a terrible idea....
