Here's a link to a blog posting I made awhile back listing some of the great books that I was assigned in high school, but never read then (except for the Cliff's Notes versions). I've since read and loved them all.
Sorry to read about your travails, Mooga. The world moves on, you know. It's pretty inevitable. For a long time I held out with my Win 98SE. I finally had to go to XP, though. Nowadays, I'm a happy penguin (Linux user). I could never have achieved my current computing nirvana had I not embraced change and progress.
Come join the rest of us while we ride the ever-changing wave of technical progress.
Have FUN!
Between running Google+ and Pandora in Pin-As-App tabs, and my other regular browsing, FF has been slurping up resources in my Slackware and Arch installations like there's no tomorrow. It's getting old. Maybe today's project should be getting to know Chrome/Chromium?
I'll wholeheartedly second this suggestion. Vonnegutt has been a fav of mine for over 40 years.
Basically anything by Michener is outstanding. I loved Texas, Hawaii, Centennial, and many others.

Let's just all swing our naked asses out in the breeze so BIG BRO can kiss them.
After reading this load of schmidt from Eric, I reacted this way: https://noctslackv1.wordpress.com/2011/08/29/google-wont-pwn-me/ I'm done. :)

... not that we were really worried or anything. The MS Police won't be kicking in my door to strip Slackware off my system any time soon. Whew!
Brian Proffitt's a great guy and all, and I'm sure he's right, but what if? What if?
