Lord knows you slashdotters have the smarts to design the hardware, so how come there isn't a TRUE linux phone? open source to the core?

Yes it is the same old story, but one that needs to be retold over and over... for the children. The things that may be shocking and unheard of to you today ,will be the norms for the next generation. Morality often never spans the generation gap, it falls with its martyrs into the chasm, and only a faint echo from an "old fashioned" doom-sayer can be heard, and promptly dismissed. not fifty years ago,it was unheard of to have sex and children out of wedlock. now its a trend. ..... Even our current generation have lost the value of privacy somewhat, what with the sex tapes, facebooks, twitters of this world. It seems normal to us now, just as it will seem normal to future generations to live without no privacy. A barcoded future is not so unfathomable now, all it needs is something that the foss ecosystem lacks. ... marketing.

So obvious in fact that you think its unfathomable...Hiding a tree in a forests, the forest being closed source software... It seems obvious, but its a all in one solution: They get to silently spy on you without ur knowledge. And whats not to say they don't take redundant measures? If I were them, i'd put in backdoors AND send men in black suits wearing fedoras and latex gloves to ur house. They certainly do have the resources(read tax payers' money) to do so.. It would be naive ,at worst, to think that they wouldn't go this far. Basically, one must assume that every avenue they could exploit to keep a step ahead, they will pursue. Vehemently.

If anonymous really wants to achieve anything with this, they should simply reorganise the earth's tectonic plates and move more landmass to the southern hemisphere. Land tends to exacerbate bad weather, which is why we enjoy relatively stable weather here in the south. So go on anon... give the earth a facelift, else, you'll just make alot of noise and nothing will change. Or if you blame human influences, get involved in climate change. That would impress even me.

The worst thing that china could do is to actually avoid conflict with the USA,but somehow convince them that they're a threat so that they keep pouring money and effort into developing ever more interesting ways to kill. Although, even without an enemy, I really do think that America has forgotten that war is supposed to be an extraordinary affair, and not a tradition. Looking at this new gun,I can't help but think that they are sure that ze turd will soon hit ze fan. America, do yo know something we don't ? I hope you do,because living in fear is the path to collapse. And how, pray tell, how can American citizens tolerate this ? It is still a democracy, right? I'm sure that if put to referendum, most people would vote to atleast slow down on developing weaponry and to turn focus on problems affecting citizens.

"Gay people, have normal children ". That is true, but they've been having them heterosexually so far. If it is indeed genetic, then the gay gene(Gay gene? ) is a recessive gene. Further, the offspring of two homosexual people would have a higher chance of being one. I thought of it like the brown-eye blue eye gig. So yeah, more data needed.

  10. Re:In b4 shitstorm on Scientists Create Mice From 2 Fathers · · Score: 1

This argument of yours becomes very doubtful once you consider the mechanisms of genetics and evolution. Nature is not forgiving, i'm taking a guess here, but I believe that any evolution that has no apparent advantages towards the survival of an organism will eventually lead to the annihilation of that organism. I'm not going to pretend to know much about evolution, however, saying evolution relies on imperfections is, at best,an oversimplification. You may have been closer to truth had you said that homosexuality is an evolutionary mechanism to deal with overpopulatuon. Call me a homophobe, but it is blatantly apparent that homosexuality is a destructive aspect to the species, (Disclaimer: I'm not implying that if you are homosexual, that nature wants you out.) If anything, evolution may rely on removing those imperfections once they become apparent. And if those imperfections somehow work out,the orginators will/may be the ones to die out. Now is the time you should factor in the probability that random variations in a molecule as complex as dna will result in anything other than a cancer. I'll admit that my argument falls apart once you factor in human intelligence, which brings in a whole new paradigm of what survival entails.
