if you read the scuttlebutt at motley fool, they bring up a good question. if nobody bought them when they were trading at $4.00 why would they be a better target now at $8.50? It seems that everyone already thought that they would win these patent lawsuits and some were even disappointed at the amount they did receive --$74M that's chump change, NTP received $162M from RIMM. Anyway, here's to them getting bought out at $20.
Although it seems unlikely to me that this will happen, you have to remember exclusivity does not necessarily mean exclusive until the end of time. Case in point, Splinter cell. It was exclusive on the xbox for about 3 months before it was released for the PC and PS/2. I see that as a win-win for all parties involved. I'm sure a lot of xboxes were sold because of SC, UbiSoft i'm sure was paid a lot of money to keep it exclusive through the holidays, and they still get the PS/2 and PC revenue.
By competitive, I think they mean price. I doubt they will stop the R&D though. They know where the real money is... in the patents and licencing fees. No worries here.
Probably no so much with a gaming rig, but if it were for an entertainment system, quiet is key. People have gotten rid of their TiVos because of fan noise.
I think they would have a pretty easy case considering they have already patented their own technology the "Multimedia time warping system". I wonder, have patents ever been thrown out after they have already awarded?
Couldn't it be possible that you could add the necessary hardware in as an add on? A PC Card perhaps? All the denials seem to suggest there will be no dreamcast hardware in the XBox, but nobody has denied being able to play Dreamcast GD-ROMs on the XBox, have they?

Flame of Recca. It has similar heroic themes as Kenshin, good animation and cool fight scenes:)
A lot of people will disagree but i think Brain Powerd (sic) is a pretty good show as well. I haven't seen the whole series but i've liked what i've seen. Don't be discouraged by all the naked women foating around during the opening. There's no nudity (as far as i've seen) in the show itself.

Is it just me or can someone point out where this is being forced on employees. It looks to me that it's being offered as a benefit and not mandate.
