Seconded. I've never had a single issue with Newegg, and amazon does indeed treat it's employees like shit, at least they did shortly after they started to become the behemoth they are now.
It's the same with state tax commissions as well. Here in Idaho we had a person sitting on the State Tax Commission that owed several hundred thousand in back taxes, but he sat on the committee charged with investigating such abuses so guess how much of his debt he paid? He was/is a friend of the Governor too so I guess that should really be shocking.
A lower cost to build the plant is relative. Without the guarantees, the plant would not be built so in essence, there is not a lower cost to build the plant, there is only one cost which since lower is a comparative term it is invalid in this case because there is no comparison. That is not a subsidy. Now if the gov't wasn't collecting taxes due on said plant or was deferring its own collection of interest premiums then that would be a subsidy, but neither are occurring in this case.
The lost profit is to the bank at the expense of the company borrowing the capital, not the taxpayers. More to the point, it is not actually lost profit because without the lower interest rates, many of these businesses wouldn't even be borrowing any capital which would mean the profit would be... wait for it...
non-existent without the gov't loan guarantees.
The way you rail against it you'd think the nuclear power industry molested you or something. This is the point where you have lost credibility due to irrationality. Good day sir.
If we calculated all of the brown people bombed into oblivion by the US for their oil, I suspect the numbers for oil and natural gas would be a bit higher as well.

Often times some of the biggest shareholders are the executives of said corporation so that would be directly rewarding them for executing their company.
No everyone in the military are hired killers. Some of them are clerks and other such clerical staff. More to the point, some of them are only there so they can have the hopes of a college education after their ToD.
That is an extremely valid point and I think both are valid. I guess the backlash really speaks to the separation that most people have built up in their minds between the RIAA and MPAA, and the Media they are purchasing. Most people hate the RIAA and MPAA, but don't see their purchase of a CD, DVD, or iTunes file as direct support of these organizations even though it clearly is.
They are really upset because the courts interpreted the law as written instead of how they wanted it. Or maybe they are just mad because the money they spent on congressmen and judges is being over ruled by the actual law.
Also, I don't know if these robots can correctly capture the exasperated sigh or the nodding of someone fighting a good nap. Seems like this is a lot of engineering to fix a problem that didn't really need a much better solution than what we already had in place. Now if they could create a hologram that would be helpful.
So you're justifying a Corporation being immoral asshats by saying "Hey, if they don't do it someone else will." I don't think that's a good reason.
There are plenty of laws prohibiting companies from selling sensitive tech to rogue nations, but that doesn't keep them from doing it through shell companies and intermediaries. Doesn't seem like they are doing a bit of good in light of these events does it.
For one, I can post AC if I want then I don't have to worry about anyone knowing that I think Texas should be given back to Mexico or any other ridiculous troll drivel that I feel like spewing at any minute. You don't have that luxury on FB unless you have troll accounts.
Another huge difference is the use of pseudonyms on/. over the real names on FB. If I want to say idiotic shit on/. I'm safe to do so and have every right to do so as I do similarly on FB, but I don't have the shield of AC on my side on FB so I can be held to account for my stupid shit.
FB users need to learn that they are not living in a secure enclave that cloisters their info and inane bullshit from prying eyes. You're on the fucking internet and whether or not you like it, it's out in public. If you don't want people to think you're and asshole, don't act like one.
Exactly, it's not so much that it doesn't work, more than it's scared and unwilling to carry on anymore.

I'm not sure when 0 became equivalent to infinity, but I think you may need to check your math and your reasoning.

Isn't that what they use bailout money for?

You missed the part where there are about 1 billion other porn sites on the web so the 30-40 doesn't even scratch the surface.
I'm agreeing with you as hard as I can right now. I'm agreeing so much that veins are bulging from my neck.

Hey hey, lets be fair; W. wasn't trying to get US killed, just all you little people without money.
Now I've heard of everything!
Well stated sir, I wish I had mod points for you.

Wow, the RIAA has shills on /. now?

Really, it's just the corporations getting practice for when they have to track the dissidents for their own purposes. Brought to you by Carl's Jr.

My point exactly.
