i imagine that the entire show was edited...especially the CHEERS that the USA recieved when taking the field. (btw, north korea got cheered too!) the Australians and the British were also recieved well.
I agree that while it may not be cheap in financial terms today...today is a nice sunny day with gentle breezes. there are always those times when having your electricity is beyond price. Like when you have no power due to natural disasters, brown/black outs, or if/when the cost of electricity keeps rising.
Then there is the emotional stand point of feeling safer because you are prepared for those issues. And even on some level that you are using your 'dollar vote' to vote against coal, oil and nuclear power altogether.
I just put a $10,000.00 unit on my parents house in MI. I feel safer knowing that come heck or high water they will not freeze to death in a winter black out.
I agree. I think that the oath that John Galt states sums it up well; I swear by my life, and my love of it, to never live for another man, or ask another man to live for me. The intelligent, hard working, industrious and creative should not be penalized by the stupid, lazy, critical masses. No one person should be penalized (TAXES, PUBLIC SCHOOLS, PUBLIC HEALTH CARE) by anyone for being smarter, working harder or being more creative etc. In today's society, as in the past, those that work hard do not deserve to be punished by the lazy and inept. We all succeed according to our MINDS ability. Our mind controls our bodies. If you just sell your sweat you get paid little. If you sell your brain power you get paid a lot better.

'stupid book' I can think of no clearer example of 'stupid' than the common practice of the simple minded to read a couple hundred words of something as deep and integral to an individuals philosophy and proclaim that it is: 'STUPID'. using smaller words: it takes a dedicated mind years to understand philosophy. you have invested minutes. perhaps your conclusion is a bit premature?

Recent research in Japan has led to the developement of PINK LED lights (4 red to 1 blue) in growing plants. It seems that the low power, high yield (400% higher growth in some instances) are a savior for some countries of the future. LED use so little power, hook them up to solar/wind and you can grow huge amounts of food in low light, basements, attics, etc without the problems of:Heat, replacing bulbs, power supply, cooling of housing from bulb/halogens. This will lead to great developement for 3rd world countries, cold countries, and home 'weed growers' to grow with impunity. GOOD JOB NAKA!
In agreement with Mr Barlow I must say that the 'Music Industry' has strangled much of the creativity of thousands of prospective artists. I agree that the Music Industry has produced little unique work in and of itself. However, the main purpose I beleive of the music industry is to make money (the ultimate in Morality) but first and formost the Music Industry protects the RIGHTS of the individual artists. As for yourself Mr Barlow you wish to see your music spread freely thoughout this 'gift market'? That is your choice. The artists that have signed contracts with Music Companies were not coerced or forced at the point of a gun, they willingly CHOSE to 'SELL' the creations of their MINDS in LEGAL and binding CONTRACT. For the most part Musicians that have 'MADE a living' in the music industry have worked MOST of their LIVES (meaning focusing all their mental, physical biengs) to become good enough to MAKE money at it. Each person has his or her own reasons why they chose music, but their personal reasons are not at issue. Each musician CHOSE WILLFULLY to SELL the products of their MINDS in order to MAKE A PROFIT. A profit that will be lessened by the free distribution of their hard earned work on the NET by NAPSTER and it's ILK. How in the name of MANKIND can you even call it 'FAIR USE'??!! It isn't 'FAIR' to those musicians that spent years of agonizing time and effort to create their music, dances, to write, to perfect their playing abilities, to labor over the perfection of their craft! Why is it 'FAIR' to them? How is it 'FAIR'?! They worked with all they had in them to create something never before created in order to make money, to support themselves and their families.
