The distortion wouldnt be very noticeable, they are only:-) travlelling at 80,000 ms, compared with the speed of light, 300,000,000 ms, the potential speed isnt large enough to cause significant distortions in time.
If anyone can remember Einsteins equation for time disortion, it would be good to see the result.
Yes but they have done a lot VERY badly. Corel Linux took down more systems than any distro Ive ever heard about (Corel Linux killed not only my exisiting Linux setup but also killed Windows), Word Perfect 2000 suite was the biggest crock ever. They took the win version and optomised it for WINE, not exactly a major re-engineering job was it?
Not really fair on Altavista, its search engine isnt really any good if you have the name of a company and want its URL, for this just use Yahoo or other directory based engines. Altavista is more designed for keyword searches and cant really be blamed that the site didnt appear in the first few pages.
Although its a good sign that Linux is increasing its market share, the point must be raised about whether the open-source model of system production can cater for a massively increasing market.
As greater amounts of less technically able users begin to adopt the OS, then this could cause problems in that too few Linux users will actually be contributing to the maintenence and upgrading of the OS itself.
Quite simply, Linux has for a long time been a small market OS that has relied on its users contributing there spare time and energy to the actual specifics of the OS. If Linux becomes a popular OS can it really attract sufficent people to ensure the OS and its applications remain cutting edge?
Of course the high fuel taxes are nothing to do with the fact that Britain has THE lowest income and road taxes in the entire EU are they? no it must be the evil Tony Blair stealing all the money. I would also suspect that the UK has lower direct taxes than the US, in fact find me any Western nation that has such low direct taxes!
Ironically the farmers who are at this moment blocking depots etc (instead of worrying sheep) are the only people in the UK who pay almost no tax on there fuel (something like 3-4p tax on a litre of red diesel).
The farmers and hauliers are only suffering because of years of awful management and planning which has caused them to be ripped to pieces by the much more efficent European competition. The farmers are also suffering from a BSE crisis they themselves created (mmmm what a good idea, lets feed our cows with sheeps brains) and the simple fact that there are too many farmers producing too much food.

Come on this is hardly an amazing bit of Physics, its simple magnetic field stuff, anyone with enough time, lots of copper wire and a big enough power supply could do it....
I will be more impressed if someone manages to induce gravity rather than defying it.

This isnt a troll, its just a point being made. It rings a bell with me as I suffered through using Netscape 4.x just because of principle..
I always thought it was a star-ship :-)
