  1. Next Question... on Net Privacy -- Cable vs. Telecom Service · · Score: 1

Q: The question becomes: Should the U.S. 'dumb down' these protections to be equivalent to telecom, or should they beef up telecom's protections to be equal to the cable industry?"

    A: Beef up.

    Next question...

  2. Ha! on Advertisers Agree To Privacy Restrictions - Kinda · · Score: 1

Too bad this doesn't mean anything...there are still plenty of bigger name online advertising groups that AREN'T on that list. Hell, bCentral (ie LinkExchange) uses the info it's obtained through Hotmail addresses (being a part of M$) to obtain Geographical information and apply that to the cookies that it uses for there banner adverts.

Sounds like these few groups are just trying a few last ditch attempts at being "morale" to save their wortheless stock.

  3. Re:Just goes to show you... on Princess Mononoke DVD: No Japanese · · Score: 1

There is a huge movie CD (not DVD) black market in Japan. If the Japanese version was available on DVD it could be ripped and burned to CD to be sold back to the Japanese market. Now do you get it?

  4. New Tech? on Project Dragonslayer: Forging Old Tech With New · · Score: 1

A hello? I don't see any new tech being displayed here...this sword doesn't even run Linux!

Fuck...if I'm going to drop several thousand on a weapon it better take me to the market and have a good alarm.

Hmmm...ofcourse a steel blue sword would go well with my motorcycle's paint job. Chopping off a few side mirrors would help me demand the respect I deserve when flying across the Bay Bridge to work.

Now all I need is a HUD for my helmet.

    -Hero Protagonist For a Day-

What you guys need is a TrollSlayer...ofcourse then no one would read my posts.

  5. Re:Just a coincidence? on 'Robonaut' Designed To Perform Spacewalk · · Score: 1

The article says "the design was inspired by Centurian armor" ...more likely than not for the same reasons why a helmet is useful (to protect it's contents). Could it be that this is convergence and not infringement as Bobba Fett might have been based off of historical armor? Bobba Fett was pretty damn cool...for a girl.

  6. Webcams on Lightsaber: Input Device Of The (Near) Future · · Score: 1

Looks like the webcam doesn't pick up very much of the room...too bad...I'd get pretty rambunctious with one of those things...specially the Darth Mal type.

Think of what you could do with two web cams though...3D motion tracking!

Mix that and some glow in the dark gloves/shoes and I could practise my Kung Fu at home against an opponent.

Lets just hope it tracks better than the PowerGlove...
